Dit is een alles-in-één ticket, inclusief de veerboottocht van en naar Robbeneiland en toegang tot het museum. Eén kaartje voor alles. Met dit ticket stapt u aan boord van de veerboot naar Robbeneiland aan het V&A Waterfront. Dit is een korte rit van 30 minuten naar het beroemde Robbeneiland. Bij aankomst wordt u verwelkomd door de inheemse, ex-gedetineerden die u gedurende ongeveer 2 uur rondleiden in de maximaal beveiligde gevangenis. In de maximaal beveiligde gevangenis van Robben krijgt u de cellen te zien waar politieke activisten jarenlang werden vastgehouden. Dit is een prachtige kans om meer te weten te komen over het gewelddadige verleden van Zuid-Afrika door de ogen van een ex-gevangene. Uw gids beantwoordt graag al uw vragen over de gevangenis. Je krijgt ook de daadwerkelijke gevangeniscel te zien waarin Nelson Mandela vastzat tijdens zijn gevangenschap op het eiland. Na zo'n eye-openende ervaring ga je aan boord van de veerboot terug naar het V & A Waterfront. Een laatste, korte rit van 30 minuten met de veerboot.

Duik in het roerige verleden van Zuid-Afrika tijdens een bezoek aan het beruchte Robbeneiland. Maak een veerboottocht van Kaapstad naar het eiland voor een informatieve rondleiding over de plek, inclusief de cel waar Nelson Mandela een groot deel van zijn gevangenschap doorbracht. Je reis begint bij de Nelson Mandela Gateway aan de V & A Waterfront in het Silo District. Hier stapt u aan boord van de veerboot voor een veerboottocht van 30 minuten naar Robbeneiland. Stap uit op het eiland en neem deel aan een rondleiding door een ex-politieke gevangene die je over de rijke geschiedenis van het eiland zal vertellen. De tourroute omvat het kerkhof van mensen die zijn gestorven aan lepra, de Lime Quarry, het huis van Robert Sobukwe, de Bluestone Quarry, de leger- en marinebunkers en de maximaal beveiligde gevangenis waar duizenden Zuid-Afrikaanse vrijheidsstrijders jarenlang werden opgesloten. Je tour eindigt met de feitelijke gevangeniscel van Nelson Mandela, waar hij een groot deel van zijn 27 jaar durende opsluiting doorbracht. De terugkeer naar Kaapstad gebeurt via een veerboot.

The ferry experience was less than desired. It was late leaving and even later arriving back causing us to miss our next tour. The people on the ferry were excellent but we were late for no known reason.
A lot of confusion with our tickets when we arrived at the museum. We entered all details (passport etc) when booking but these details were not in the system and there was a question mark over whether or not we could board the ferry due to headcount; even though we had confirmed tickets. Otherwise the tour of Robben Island was great and the history of what happened on the island heartbreaking. Worth a visit. Just make sure you have all tickets confirmed.
45 minutes before was checked in, the best places at the top of the window were quickly taken.On the way there were dolphins to see.On the island of penguins and on the jetty in Cape Town lake seals.The bus ride took a long time,the explanations were too long.The tour with the former prisoner was difficult to understand if you don't speak perfect English.More boards that you can translate would be helpful.
Very interesting. Ex prisoner giving talk was excellent as was the guide on the bus. The tour was at 11 am and we were lucky as due to winds the afternoon tours were cancelled.

Hearing about the history of the prison was great. Doing the bus tour around some of the island gave a great insight to the way of life there.

The tour was grounding and sombering. I returned with great respect for the ex prisoners of Robben Island after hearing first hand narration from one of the “ex-cons”
We never received the tickets we purchased and had to purchase further tickets from another source. This caused stress when we went to board the ferry.
