In deze ervaring zul je niet alleen de prachtige panoramische uitzichten die de wandeling biedt en de realiteit van wat een gemeenschap of favela is, kunnen vinden, maar ik beloof ook mijn missie te vervullen zodat je een beetje liefde met je meeneemt die ik heb voor deze plek met een mooie ervaring, met energie, gelach en smaken.

Dit avontuur begint op het Vidigal-plein, waar we een motortaxi nemen (gebruikelijk vervoer voor de inwoners van Vidigal) tot we het reservaat binnengaan. Er wacht ons een lichte/gematigde tocht van 50 minuten, waarbij we rond de Dois Irmaos-heuvel gaan en La Rocinha, de grootste favela in Brazilië, van bovenaf zien, we zullen ook de buurt van San Conrado, Barra de Tijuca, Pedra de Gavea, Pedra herkennen Bonita, de wijk Gavea, Christus de Verlosser, onder andere. Deze tour heeft de beste kosten/batenverhouding van alle trekkings die je kent! Nachtelijke beklimming: we ontvangen de zonsopgang vanaf de top en dalen in de ochtend af. Het is alsof je twee excursies in één doet! Inclusief zaklamp en een kopje koffie om de zon te ontvangen. 'S Ochtends en' s middags: We gaan op en neer onder begeleiding van zonlicht, waarbij we het pad twee keer kunnen waarderen. 's Middags stijgen en 's nachts dalen: we nemen afscheid van de zon vanaf de top en dalen 's nachts af. Het is alsof je twee excursies in één doet! Inclusief zaklamp.
We dalen de heuvel af via een kortere weg die ons in het hoogste deel van Vidigal laat. We bezoeken het hostel "Mirante de Avrao" met een prachtig panoramisch uitzicht op de favela, daarna gaan we naar de "Quiosque do Avrao" waar we de mogelijkheid hebben om te ontbijten, lunchen of snacken, ze serveren ook caipirinha's en ijskoude bieren . Eindelijk de afdaling door het hart van Vidigal! We gaan door trappen, gangen, de hoofdstraat en secundaire straten en kennen de geschiedenis van de gemeenschap, interessante gegevens en droompanorama's!

Climbing the Morro Dois Irmãos from Vidigal with Fernando was much more than a walk: it was living Rio from the inside. Fernando is not only a guide; he is someone who connects you to the history, culture and real energy of the favela as you walk. Each leg made sense because he was telling, explaining and transmitting with passion. The climb was challenging... and the descent even more 😅, but I never felt insecure. Always attentive, helping in difficult times and transmitting confidence even when vertigo appeared. We walked down the whole favela next to him, which made the experience even more authentic. Although that day the sun decided to go down, the magic was the same. It placed us on the top line to achieve the best shots and live the moment to the fullest. And the details that make the difference: he baited mate while we waited for dawn, carried a portable fan and made me air when I was already sold out... the Uruguay flag for our photos! Simple gestures that demonstrate genuine care. It wasn’t just an outing: it was a physical challenge, an emotional connection and an experience that stays on the skin. If you want to know Vidigal for real, with security, respect and a unique energy... Fernando is the guide you need.

The line for the mototaxi was very long so we took a risk trying to get to the top faster and it led to us walking up Vidigal rather than riding. It was tough but a much more unique experience. Fernando and Bryan were very kind. They provided me with water and were very helpful on the hike and open to helping with pictures. Bryan was also very helpful and gave me ten reals to pay for a bus ride home because I couldn’t pay. Very kind guys and a great experience!

A crack!! We took a guided tour of the Vidigal favela and it was an amazing experience. Our guide was very friendly and attentive throughout, he knows the area perfectly and made us feel safe and welcome from the first minute. One of the highlights was that he made photos and videos with drone, capturing spectacular moments and breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro. Thanks to him we have wonderful memories of this day! 100% recommend this experience to anyone who wants to know the reality and culture of Vidigal in a respectful and authentic way. An excellent guide!

Rio has a variety of things to do and one of them is the Morro Dois Irmao and the Favela de Vidigal a unique experience, the guide Fernando a passionate about nature , at 2 am you have to stand , is explaining everything about the area both ascent and descent ,my best photos of Rio was in the morro at dawn without a doubt , then in the favela Vidigal is explaining and there are some murals where beautiful photos come out , we meet people who care for the community are areas where you can not record but I always felt safe , if you have the opportunity I recommend them.
Fernando is amazing, he’s very knowledgeable and knows the trail and the favela really well and he’s so much fun to be around. We had the best time and would highly recommend. His photo skills are also top notch. ;)
