Deze tour duurt een halve dag om de hoofdstad van Marokko Rabat te ontdekken, een stad die de geschiedenis combineert met het heden.

Of Sala Colonia is een necropolis en een complex van het oude Romeinse Tingitana uit Mauritanië en middeleeuwse ruïnes aan de rand van Rabat, het is de oudste menselijke nederzetting aan de monding van de rivier de BouRegreg.
Gelegen aan de andere kant van de Yaakub Al Mansour-esplanade. Het bevat de graven van de Marokkaanse koning Mohammed V en zijn twee zonen, wijlen koning Hassan II en prins Abdallah.
Het is de minaret van een onvoltooide moskee, de toren was bedoeld als de grootste minaret ter wereld, samen met zijn moskee, maar het werk stopte net na de dood van Yaakub Al Mansour.
De Kasbah is gelegen aan de monding van de Bou Regreg rivier, gebouwd in de twaalfde eeuw door de Almohaden die het “Al Mahdia” noemden, verwijzend naar hun leider Al Mahdi Ben Tumurt. Oorspronkelijk was deze Kasbah een Ribat (een militaire verdediging). En later gaf de kasbah zijn naam aan de hele stad. Kasbah Oudayas is een stad in een stad, een kleine stad apart in Rabat. In 2012 werd het samen met andere locaties in de stad ingeschreven op de lijst van werelderfgoed van UNESCO als een cultureel bezit.

We booked through Memphis Travel who uses this company locally. I highly recommend both companies. They re well organized, always timely. The tour guide, Isham, was knowledgeable and very detailed. Our driver/guide, Larbi, was exceptional. He spent ten days with us throughout Morocco. He placed our safety foremost before any thing else, in every way. Know that Morocco is a safe country, just use travel prudence with your belongings, like any other travel destination. Additionally, he made sure we were well informed of his culture and maximized our experience at every opportunity. He speaks Berber, Arabic, French and English, and serves a a constant source of information. He is very proud of his culture and gladly shares it with you. Definitely use these two companies.
Ichamito Echerfaoui was the tourist guide hired through Fire Bird Tours. Very well educated guide, able to go far beyond the typical architectural, historical and geographical information.If you are interested in social, political, religious views Mr. Echerfaoui is an excellent choice.
Pure Morocco arranged a Rabat half day tour for us. They were very professional, helpful and efficient. Our tour guide was Hicham who arrived on time and was very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. He showed us all the sights as promised but his explanation made everything much more interesting. It felt like we were exploring Rabat with a friend. Hicham also recommended a great coffee shop and 2 really good restaurants which we tried and they were all great. Next time we are in Morocco, we will definitely ask Pure Morocco to arrange our whole itinerary.
Mohamed Lakhdimi gave us an exceptional tour around the key historical sites of Rabat. His English is excellent and he is courteous and respectful. He swiftly focused on what interested us. We were impressed by both his depth of knowledge and that he also willingly & unhesitatingly answered all our questions. With so much still shut because of Covid, with a lesser guide the tour could have been a disappointment but Mohamed made it a high point of our visit to Rabat
