De vuurtoren wordt ten zeerste aanbevolen om deze te bezoeken tijdens zonsondergang wanneer het warme licht van de zinkende zon in de vuurtoren stroomt. Het wordt beschouwd als een van de beste en mooiste vuurtorens in Cycladen.
Venetiaans kasteel, gelegen in het pittoreske dorpje Oia, is de meest populaire locatie om de wereldberoemde zonsondergang van Santorini te bewonderen.
Akrotiri wordt de ‘Griekse Pompeii’ genoemd omdat de site bedekt was met vulkanische as.
De positie van het dorp biedt een duidelijk zicht op de caldera en de vulkaan. Hotels en traditionele huizen zijn er in overvloed in Imerovigli.
Het prachtige strand van Perissa ligt aan de voet van de berg Mesa Vouno, die Perissa van Kamari scheidt. Het landschap dat het zwarte lavazand samen met de zandige zeebodem en het donkerblauwe, kristalheldere water samenstelt, is indrukwekkend.
Oia, uitgesproken als Ia, is de beroemdste van alle dorpen van Santorini. De fantastische zonsondergang en een aantal geweldige luxe hotels, smalle straatjes, kerken met blauwe koepels.
Het glorieuze klooster van Profitis Ilias (profeet Elias), een van de oudste van het eiland en het hoogste punt van het hele eiland.
Red Beach is waarschijnlijk uniek in de hele wereld, waar rood de dominante kleur is. Het beroemdste strand ligt in het zuidelijkste deel van Santorini. Het ligt in het dorp Akrotiri
Megalochori is een van de meest pittoreske dorpjes op het eiland. Het bestaan ervan is vastgelegd in de 17e eeuw. De thuisbasis van historische herenhuizen, oude traditionele huizen, schuilplaatsen voor piraten en wijncanava's.

Makis was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. He shared with us his local insights and Santorini history. He took us to the perfect sunset view that was not crowded. If you want an authentic guide- ask for Makis! We were picked up and dropped off from our hotel and it was an easy way to see the sights with no stress.

We had the pleasure of completing 2 tours with Makis from Santorini Magical Travel. From organising the tour from the office in Oia, the whole experience could not have been smoother. Dimitri in the office was wonderful in finding someone to take us on a wine tour in low season on the island and connecting us with them for smooth pick up and transfers in a private van. On our first day we completed a half day wine and microbrewery tour which was sensational! We had such a fabulous time, we asked to have a second day tour of various Santorini historical sites and also asked if there was a suggestion for lunch that could be included on the tour. On our second day, we were able to organise a bespoke tour of various historical sites across all of Santorini, with Makis also organising the most incredible lunch for us at Forty One restaurant to complete our tour. Makis was beyond personable and entertaining, with his knowledge of Santorini and its history being absolutely unmatched. He is a local whose family has been here for generations and grew up here - how can you beat that! He was flexible when we asked about seeing particular areas, made suggestions of areas he thought we’d might like based on our interests and hobbies, took photos for us at the stunning various locations and kept us entertained with fabulous stories of Santorini history and how the island had changed over time. Makis, aka Mr. Santorini, is the best tour guide on the island. Born and raised on Santorini, he is knowledgeable and passionate about the island. But he is also passionate about helping others to explore the island in their own way. He gives ideas, suggests times and places and activities, but is very flexible about where and what you do on the tour. It’s your tour! So he makes it exactly what you and your friends or family want ti do with the time you have. He’s also a great photographer and is more than happy to take many photos of you on the excursion with Santorinis beautiful scenery. We went to Akrotiri, red sand beach, Fira, Oia, to many viewpoints, and to the best hidden restaurant on the sea with incredible seafood! He was always punctual and professional and we left feeling like good friends after just two days together. We absolutely would hire him again!
