Een privétour met een autochtone chauffeur is altijd iets speciaals voor iemand die Monserrat komt bezoeken om te lachen en plezier te hebben.

El Bruc, een klein pittoresk stadje gelegen op de zuidelijke hellingen van de berg, met een stop van 10 minuten om te genieten van het panoramische uitzicht en de speciale morfologie van de toppen. We passeren het standbeeld / monument gewijd aan de "Timbaler" (held van het verzet tegen Napoleon)
Klooster/klooster van de XI eeuw. Zodra we de noordhelling zijn overgestoken, komen we aan bij het kleine klooster in Romaanse stijl waar we de prachtige architectuur zullen waarderen en er de mogelijkheid zal zijn (5 minuten lopen) om het uitzicht op Sant Benet en de hele vallei met de Pyreneeën in de achtergrond.
We komen aan bij de abdij waar je vrije tijd hebt om de kerk te bezoeken met de afbeelding van de Zwarte Maagd, beschermheilige van Catalonië.
We zullen de gevel van dit museum zien op een hoogte van 720 meter boven de zeespiegel

Samen met de Heilige Grot is het de meest toegankelijke berghermitage in Montserrat. Het is goed verbonden met het klooster dankzij de kabelbaan van San Juan en de Camino de las Ermitas, die brede en goed verharde delen heeft.
We keren terug langs de kronkelende weg aan de noordkant, steken het Sant Benet-klooster over, zien de spectaculaire verticale muren en komen aan in de prachtige stad Monistrol, doorkruist door de rivier de Llobregat en terug naar de oorsprong.

Awesome tour with James! Our personal tour of Monserrat with James was phenomenal! He was so easy to work with and graciously accommodated our requests with stops at El Bruc and Santa Cecilia de Montserrat; a visit to the Throne Room of Our Lady of Montserrat; attending a concert by the Escolania de Montserrat Boys’ Choir; and hiking the paved path from the Saint Joan Funicular! Our group of six hired James for a half day tour of the Monserrat Monastery near Barcelona. The Monastery and Black Madonna were amazing and James provided excellent background information at each of our stops. The scenery alone is worth the trip!

We really enjoyed our time with Jaime and the trip up to Montserrat. He provided information as we drove through Barcelona up to Montserrat — current and historic information about the city and its people. (It was January so quite cold, and he even gave one of our girls his coat to use…he went above and beyond!). The area was beautiful and I understand why so many locals escape for the day to hike and enjoy the views. If you are going to Montserrat, I would highly suggest Jaime, and especially if you are in a group!

Easy ride from Barcelona. Car was spacious and comfortable. James explained everything about Montserrat and arranged for tickets for us to see the Madonna. The site is beautiful and definitely well worth the trip. Overall, it was a pricey experience to have a driver otherwise would have given it a 5.
