Het Majapahit-rijk is een van de grootste rijken in de geschiedenis van Indonesië en biedt tal van erfgoederen die de cultuur in Indonesië vormgeven, vooral op Java en Bali. Door de geschiedenis van Indonesië heen werd Majapahit meerdere keren genoemd als bewijs van hoe groot de invloed was. Verschillende koninkrijken gebruiken hun naam zelfs om hun macht jegens mensen op Java te legitimeren. Er werden veel scripts en relikwieën ontdekt en die dienden nu als het enige wat nog over is van Majapahit dat kan worden onderzocht als een aandenken aan hoe invloedrijk en groot het Majapahit-rijk was. En tijdens deze reis nemen we je mee naar een trip down memory lane. Leer wat geschiedenis over Majapahit en dompel de cultuur onder die dit rijk heeft achtergelaten door verschillende ruïnes en musea te bezoeken.

Imposante rode bakstenen 15 meter hoge poorten uit de 14e tot 15e eeuw. Hier zullen we je meenemen om de structuur van deze site van dichterbij te bekijken en te verkennen, waardoor historici dit eerder als een poort dan als een tempel beschrijven.
Deze rode bakstenen tempel werd ooit gebouwd voordat Majapahit bestond. Zoals de naam al suggereerde, is deze plaats een heilige plaats en wordt deze nog steeds gebruikt tijdens de Majapahit-periode. Daarom brengen we je hier om te onderzoeken waarom de theorie dat deze plaats het crematorium zou zijn, meestal onjuist was.
Deel ook hetzelfde lot als Wringin Lawang, deze site wordt verondersteld de poort te zijn die leidt naar iets heiligs vanwege zijn vorm. Hier zullen we je rondleiden en de prachtige plek zien die de architectuur op Bali beïnvloedt.
Vernoemd naar de toestand tijdens de opgraving, was de Tikus-tempel eigenlijk een badplaats voor de koninklijke familie voordat ze een ritueel deden of gewoon voor hun plezier. We zullen tijdens ons bezoek zien en de site verkennen.

Ryan was waiting for us as we exited the cruise terminal. He was such a wonderful driver and guide, funny, knowledgeable, and willing to adapt to anything we wanted to do. From pick up to drop off the trip went very smoothly. Expert driving through the traffic, even finding a rat run to avoid a bad jam caused by a broken down lorry. The religious sites and museums were beautiful and close together. The guide was humorous with excellent English ,with a depth of knowledge of the various religions.

We had a fantastic half day tour with Ryan. He was on time and easy to find at port. We went to 4 different Candi temples which were very nice. Highlight was meeting a large group of school children at one of them. Highly recommended Ryan.

We really enjoyed this tour of sites from the Majahapit Empire. Our guide Fajar and driver Rudy picked us up on time from the cruise terminal. Fajar was friendly, knowledgeable, and his English was excellent. He gave us a detailed explanation of each site and was able to answer all of our questions. The sites we visited were all beautifully manicured and well-maintained. Our driver Rudy was a good driver and got us back to the port in plenty of time.

Our driver/guide, Nael, was punctual and knowledgeable and provided a wealth of fascinating information—not only about the tour locations but also about Indonesia’s culture, customs, and traditions. This tour was a great introduction to the ancient history of Indonesia. Visiting the archeological ruins provided a foundation for understanding the evolution of architecture styles in the various regions of the country. Ryan was an outstanding guide and teacher. He was very conscientious in making sure we were comfortable and was able to answer all questions. He was especially helpful for my friend who has some mobility issues.
