Vlotten zijn ontworpen om de naturalistische gidsen toe te staan je op de rand van de rivieroever te zetten terwijl je op zoek bent naar brulapen, witte kapucijnaapjes, luiaards en mantelundo's! Terwijl u de weelderige, vredige rivier de Peñas Blancas afvaart, ziet u enkele van de andere bewoners: langsnavelige vleermuis, leguanen, hagedissen van Jezus Christus, uilen en nog veel meer. Maar dit is veel meer dan alleen een natuursafari, u zult ook uw zintuigen behandelen met de rijke aroma's en de smaak van chocolade! Uw dag van avontuur en zoete verwennerij begint met een Safari Float over de Peñas Blancas rivier, een prachtige ervaring voor natuurliefhebbers van alle leeftijden. Met speciaal ontworpen vlotten kunt u dicht bij de rivieroevers komen om wilde dieren, flora en fauna te spotten. Na het ophalen van het hotel in het La Fortuna-gebied, geniet u van een korte rit naar de aanlegsteiger van de rivier, waar uw vriendelijke Gids zal helpen met zwemvesten voordat u aan boord gaat van het vlot. Tijdens de twee uur durende drijver deelt uw Gids de lokale geschiedenis en inzichten terwijl u zich in een rustig tempo voortbeweegt, waardoor uw kans op het zien van apen, leguanen, Jezus Christus-hagedissen, uilen, vleermuizen en meer toeneemt. Na de praalwagen gaat u verder naar de Sweet Chocolate Tour, waar u meer leert over de geschiedenis van cacao en deelneemt aan oogst-, droog-, maal- en chocolademaakprocessen. Eindig met het proeven van heerlijke gastronomische chocolade voordat u terugkeert naar uw hotel.

Our family of 5 ranged in age from 11 up to 57 and we all enjoyed this tour. Our guide Moises made sure we got to see every species of wildlife that poked out its head during our ride down the river. He was very knowledgeable and shared information in a manner that kept the attention of even our 11 year old. He worked hard to make sure we were comfortable and safe. We also enjoyed the chocolate tour. Highly recommend.

Our group of nine had a wonderful tour led by Diego and Carlos. They were outstanding guides who knew all the details of Costa Rican wildlife. We saw several troops of monkeys, wild cats, iguanas and birds. Their knowledge and experience was excellent and made for a great experience. Also our guides did a wonderful job of dealing with unruly boats from a different tour company (Blue Pacific) who were disrupting the wildlife experience for all. We highly recommend Waves! We had lukewarm hopes for the Chocolate tour - but were amazing with the experience. Yen was our tour guide, who led us thru a full overview of the chocolate process, and guided all of us in making our own chocolate bars. An outstanding tour!

This is a great way to see nature and wildlife a bit closer as its a gentle meander down the river. The guide was brilliant. They obviously know where alot of the animals tend to hang out but still how they actually spot them is amazing. We saw monkeys, sloths, bats, crocs, lizards and multiple bird species. The company picked us up very promptly and the level of service is second to none. The only criticism I have was the end part with the chocolate tour!......as you finish the boat trip you get to see how they make chocolate. This was a 15 min demo which you get to taste some(it's lush). Just thought this was very rushed as we probably spent more time on the water than they had planned. I understand they have a time table so other parties were turning up ready to go. But apart from that I would thoroughly recommend it. 👌
