In de ochtend wordt u opgehaald bij uw hotel in Luxor Je wordt door een airconditioned (auto/bus) met een kleine groep mensen naar de Dendera tempel gebracht, de weg naar de tempel duurt ongeveer 1u.15min voor elke heen- en terugreis (1u 15min heen + 1u 15min terug). Eenmaal aangekomen bij de tempel van Dendera, een van de beste bezienswaardigheden in het zuiden van Qena in Egypte, staat de tempel van Dendera, gebouwd door Ptolemaeus IX SoterII, in het midden van een enorm gebied begrensd door een muur van luchtgedroogde bakstenen, bijna volledig geruïneerd, waarvan de zijden tussen 925 en 990 voet lang zijn; aan de noord- en oostzijde zijn twee prachtige portalen gebouwd tijdens de periode van Romeinse heerschappij. Marwa fatafeat elsoket was my tour guide for Dendara and she did an excellent job explaining the temple to me and all its fascinating inscriptions and stories with some free time allowed for me to take extra pictures. A very nice half day getaway from Luxor and Dendara is absolutely beautiful.
Dandera Temple for someone interested in ancient Egypt is a must. But doing it solo is not a good idea. Our guide Ablaa described everything for us perfectly. She answered all our questions (and we asked a lot), she has amazing knowledge, and was really friendly! She described all of the gods, told us their history, and tought us how to distiguish them. We had different guides across multiple trips, but she is our number 1.
Great experience visiting Dendera - everything was smooth and well organised. Our guide Momo was a fantastic: knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful throughout.
