Het halve dag durende Ayutthaya City Culture Bicycle Adventure is een must voor iedereen die Ayutthaya bezoekt met beperkte tijd. Deelnemers fietsen rond de oude hoofdstad van Siam, passeren lokale gemeenschappen en stoppen om de beroemde tempels te bezoeken die Ayutthaya tot een must-see bestemming maken.

Pom Phet was de belangrijkste vesting en beschermde de haven waar vreemde schepen gedwongen werden te ankeren voor inspectie en lossen. Geen enkele buitenlandse boot die eerder de Chao Phraya-rivier op reed, mocht voorbij dit punt. In 1767 waren de Birmese dat niet in staat om vanuit dit fort Ayutthaya binnen te dringen. De stadsmuren werden uiteindelijk doorbroken aan de noordoostkant van het hoofdeiland bij het fort van Maha Chai om precies te zijn. Pom Phet is een van de twee overblijfselen van oude forten en nu een openbaar park.
Wat Lokaya Sutha is een enorme tempelruïne. Het is uitgelijnd in de richting van een oost / west-as. Het klooster is zwaar gerestaureerd, inclusief vloertegels en stenen vloeren. Het grootste deel van de tempel bestaat alleen op het basisstamniveau. Dit omvat enkele stompen van pilaren en basismuren. Bij de oostelijke ingang zijn de overblijfselen van drie vihans. Achter deze preekzalen ligt een grote 30 meter hoge, Late Ayutthaya-periode, in de stijl van de Khmer-stijl. Deze Prang-toren heeft een holle ingang aan de oostkant. De overblijfselen van een ubsot zijn te zien achter de prang. Alleen de basisfunderingslaag is bewaard gebleven, maar er zijn veel sema-stenen en het afval van Boeddha-afbeeldingen. Aan de zuidwestelijke hoek van deze ubosot staat een grote klokkentoren. Het hoogtepunt van deze tempel is het enorme liggende Boeddha beeld (37 meter lang en 8 meter hoog), dat zich achter de ubosot bevindt.
Het Ayutthaya Historical Park bestaat uit de ruïnes van tempels en paleizen van de hoofdstad van het oude Ayutthaya-koninkrijk. Het park ligt op een eiland omringd door drie rivieren waar de oude hoofdstad vroeger was. Het Ayutthaya-koninkrijk, dat bestond van 1351 tot 1767, was een van de grootste en meest welvarende rijken van zijn tijd. De ruïnes van vele indrukwekkende tempels en paleizen geven een indruk van de rijkdom van het oude koninkrijk.
Wat Phra Si Sanphet (Thai: วัด พระ ศรี สรร เพ ช ญ์; "Tempel van de Heilige, Splendid Alwetende") was de heiligste tempel op de plaats van het oude koninklijke paleis in de oude hoofdstad van Ayutthaya in Thailand totdat de stad volledig verwoest was door de Birmese in 1767. Het was de grootste en mooiste tempel in de hoofdstad en diende als een model voor Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
Wat Mahathat, "de tempel van de grote relikwie", was een van de belangrijkste tempels in het koninkrijk Ayutthaya. Gelegen op het historische eiland, heeft het grote klooster een enorme centrale prang, een zeer grote hoofdsom viharn en ubosot en een groot aantal dochterachtige chedi's en viharns. Het bovenste deel van de eens zo grote centrale prang is ingestort. Vandaag blijft alleen de basis over. Een van de meest gefotografeerde objecten van de tempel is het hoofd van een stenen Boeddhabeeld verstrengeld in de wortels van een boom.

Really fun, good guide and perfectly long
Beam was an amazing guide and the bike ride was the perfect length to see all the sights of Ayutthaya. We especially enjoyed trying the local delicacy and preparing our offering to Buddha. Beam even recommended a brilliant place for lunch afterwards. Would highly recommend this tour.

We carved out half a day to explore Ayutthaya during our trip to Thailand and wanted to make the most of the short time we had. This bike tour was absolutely perfect to get a full city experience in a tight package. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She spoke English fluently and was familiar with several other languages. Her insights at each of the stops gave us the background we never would have gotten if we explored ourselves. The stops are well thought out and cover several of the most notable sights in the city, including a stop at a local market we otherwise never would've found. Our ticket purchase included some tasty local treats from the market. The biking route was mostly flat and easy to navigate. Some moments involved riding alongside local traffic which can be a little intimidating, but the guide rides up front while another employee ride behind to keep us safe watch our backs. We couldn't have been happier with our relatively short tour. Afterwards we wished we had planned more time for Ayutthaya, but this was the perfect introduction to such a historical city. We couldn't recommend it enough.

Great tour of several of the Ayutthaya attractions. Bung was very knowledgeable and provided insights that were meaningful to the experience. The tour time ran much longer than expected (I booked the 3-hour tour which took well over 4 hours). Although I understand they are made to appeal to a broad audience, I would have enjoyed more historical detail, given the significance of the site. The bike was good quality; I felt safe and well-attended to (the cold beverage timing was spot on).

The tour was great. Loved cycling around seeing the sights of Ayutthaya. We had two excellent guides who got us around the roads safely. Our main guide was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. She took us to various rest stops and let us get drinks and try some foods at her cost without any pressure at all on us to purchase anything. Made my daughter feel special on her birthday. Bikes were good quality and well maintained. Would definitely recommend.

The prices are almost the same as in France, and we had booked four bicycles, two for adults, and two for children aged five and nine. When we arrived, the smallest bike was too big for my daughter, so we finally rented three bikes, but the owner, a Dutchman, who has this business, just to do business, he does not care about tourists and customers, asked us to pay the same rate for three bikes as for four. According to him we resonate per person and not by rented bike, and as my daughter climbed behind me We paid almost 5500 baht, which corresponds in euros to 125 €! Not very nice, not a merchant, and the worst part is that he insisted that we pay in cash and absolutely did not want us to pay by credit card. As a matter of principle, we paid by credit card...

Nice half-day (3.5hr) tour through the inner city tempels. Child Seats available and good quality bikes. Guide takes good care and speaks good english. Despite the nice tour we found it heavily overpriced.
