Fort Granby is een kleine maar charmante historische plek aan de zuidoostkust van Tobago. Gebouwd rond 1765, was het een van de eerste Britse vestingwerken van het eiland, oorspronkelijk ter bescherming van de voormalige hoofdstad, Georgetown. Hoewel er vandaag de dag slechts beperkte overblijfselen van het fort bewaard zijn gebleven, is het gebied prachtig onderhouden en beschaduwd door indrukwekkende, ineengestrengelde bomen die een rustige, parkachtige sfeer creëren. Bezoekers kunnen de grafsteen van de Britse soldaat James Clark (1772) zien en genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht over Barbados Bay en Pinfold Bay, waardoor het een mooie plek is voor foto's, een korte pauze of een picknick. Rustig, schilderachtig en gemakkelijk te bezoeken, Fort Granby is een aangename stop voor diegenen die geïnteresseerd zijn in Tobago's geschiedenis en kustlandschappen.
Dit fort op de bergtop combineert een prachtig uitzicht op de oceaan en de stad met een dosis militaire en koloniale geschiedenis van Tobago. In Fort King George kunnen reizigers de gevangenis en de officiersmess verkennen, evenals het schilderachtige Tobago Museum dat zich in het voormalige wachthuis van de barakken bevindt. Het Tobago Museum toont wapens en precolumbiaanse artefacten gevonden in Scarborough naast oude Tobago kaarten en foto's. Buiten de historische gebouwen, kunnen bezoekers verschillende kanonnen en uitgestrekte uitzichten op Scarborough Bay vinden. Tickets voor het museum zijn uitgesloten van de tourprijs.
Mooie kleine natuurpad, dat leidt naar het eerste niveau van de watervallen en een mooie 18 voet diep zwemmen lagune. Als u wilt kunt u een Gids huren voor een extra vergoeding. Met 3 niveaus is het donderende geluid van de waterval lang voordat je het ziet te horen. De hoogte van de eerste cascade verbergt de echte pracht van Argyle’s bovenste niveaus. Als je avontuurlijk bent kun je aan de rechterkant een struikachtig pad omhoog lopen naar het tweede niveau, waar je wordt begroet door een dikke mist. Op dit niveau kun je in verschillende natuurlijke rotskuipen liggen en het water over je lichaam laten stromen. Tot slot, verder gaand het derde zwembad, hoewel de kleinste is de diepste en de beste om te zwemmen, nodigt u uit om te duiken, springen of schommelen in het water van de beschikbare wijnstokken.

Trip Advisor asked me for a comment about Tobago's Bacolet Bay - best reached by traveling east along the main Claude Noel Highway, past the (busy) capital Scarborough, just past the Dwight Yorke football stadium and hanging a right down Bacolet St. Continue until you reach the beach sign on the left side and go down the steps about 50yds to the beach. It WAS a pretty little beach, about 200yds wide. It was beautiful in 2019, deserted and certainly worth a romantic hand in hand stroll with the missus but safe swimming there wasn't advised. Sadly, time hasn't been kind! It has a beach pavilion - but I never saw anyone there and by 2023 (as you can see) it had seriously deteriorated. In 5.2025, after storms, the beach was covered in seaweed and very unkempt. It could be pretty again with a bit of TLC - but until then I'd give it a miss; tho' maybe give it a look-in if you're visiting Fort King George just around the corner and see what's happening there. Believe me, Tobago (my favorite island) is truly fabulous, has much more to offer and deserves more visitors!

This was to be a group experience and last minute was changed to a solo trip with myself and a driver who was not initially listed on the booking. He was very unprofessional and creepy. He snuck a picture of me that I had to force him to delete. He said this was required by the gentleman who was responsible for the excursion (whom I spoke to on the phone and also wasn’t very friendly). He spoke about inappropriate things the entire time and made me entirely uncomfortable. The island was beautiful but the experience was not. Unless you have friends with you, I dont recommend.

I guess this is the best travel agent on Tobago. We were taken in a private car from the harbor and driven all the way to the Buccoo jetty from where we boarded their catamaran and were sailing towards Nylon Pool. It was an amazing experience and the guys aboard the catamaran were taking very good care of us and especially of my little daughter. Very safe and unique experience. The price was more than reasonable. In case I am back to Tobago will definitely use their services again 🇹🇹

The tour guides were very knowledgeable on both islands. We were able to see the island, eat local foods, and visit the beaches. Englishman Bay and Marcus beach was worth the drive. The beach was beautiful and we were one of only a few people there. The transportation was clean and they provided drinks as well. I would recommend working with them on a tour. As a side note, if you book with them you should request very specific pick up location and ask the guide has a sign with your name or the name of the tour. This is important if you are arriving my cruise. ship.

This was a great trip! The sights were stunning. We enjoyed our time snorkeling and exploring the smaller coves. Our guide was exceptional and we even booked a tour later that night to spot the bioluminesence.

Fantastic day on the water! Good company, beats, amazing views with clear blue water. We also did some snorkeling and enjoyed a lovely bbq at the beach.
