Stap in het hart van het erfgoed van Muscat bij Muttrah Souq, een van de oudste en meest levendige markten in Oman. Wandel door de smalle, kronkelende steegjes gevuld met de geur van wierook en kruiden, en ervaar de authentieke sfeer van het traditionele Omaanse leven. Tijdens je bezoek heb je de kans om de beroemde Omaanse Halwa te proeven, een heerlijk lokaal snoepje dat de rijke smaken en gastvrijheid van Oman weerspiegelt. Voel het rustgevende aroma van pure wierook, bekend om zijn kalmerende en spirituele kwaliteiten, terwijl je de winkels om je heen verkent. Ontdek de grootste goudmarkt van Oman, waar glinsterende sieraden en ingewikkelde ontwerpen de vaardigheid van Omaans vakmanschap laten zien. Stap vervolgens binnen bij Ali Baba Silver Shop, een van de oudste en meest gerespecteerde winkels in de souq, waar u prachtig handgemaakte zilveren schatten en antieke stukken kunt bewonderen.
We pauzeren bij Panoramic View of Old Muscat, een van de meest adembenemende uitzichtpunten met uitzicht op Old Muscat. Vanaf hier opent de scène naar een perfect uitzicht op het majestueuze Al Alam Paleis, de ceremoniële residentie van Zijne Majesteit de Sultan, omlijst door de iconische Al Jalali en Al Mirani forten die de wacht houden aan weerszijden van de baai.
Stop voor foto's buiten het ceremoniële paleis van Zijne Majesteit Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Het paleis, met zijn opvallende blauwe en gouden gevel, wordt geflankeerd door de historische Portugese forten Jalali en Mirani, waardoor het een prachtig decor is.
Tot slot rijden we dichterbij voor een speciale fotostop bij de historische forten Al Jalali en Al Mirani. Gebouwd in de 16e eeuw door de Portugezen en later gerestaureerd door de Omanis, staan deze forten trots bij de ingang van de haven van Muscat, symbolen van de veerkracht en het erfgoed van de stad. Hun indrukwekkende aanwezigheid tegen de zee en de bergen zorgt voor opvallende fotografie en een dieper gevoel van de geschiedenis van Muscat. Daarna sluiten we onze dag af en zetten we je af waar je maar wilt.

Said (one of the Two Brothers in the company name) collected us from our hotel & we were lucky enough to have him to ourselves as we're visiting in the humid, less busy September season. The tour kicked off at the mosque which Said prepared us for in advance with a WhatsApp "rules" picture which guided us as to what to wear, and as we went early we beat the crowds & virtually had the mosque to ourselves - a truly breathtaking experience. All the stops we made from the Opera House to a Karak tea stop - were well thought out & perfect to give a really rounded taster of this beautiful city. The fish market was very interesting and as Said is a well known fisherman himself he was greeted warmly by all. We could not have wished for a better tour of Muscat. Said was engaging, funny, smart, well informed & entertaining & answered our myriad questions with grace. I wish we could take him home with us as his laugh & smile are so infectious, but I guess we'd better leave him in Muscat to help explain this fascinating country & culture to others....
I had a great time with Said on the Muscat city tour. He is very knowledgeable, his English is fluent and is very easy to chat with. He has a great sense of humor. he showed me around many places that I might have missed, like the Ali Baba shop (a must see) and the Al Mirani fort. I highly recommend him for the city tour.

I had a great experience with Said! He is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of not only Muscat, but Oman as a whole. He shared so many interesting stories and facts throughout the tour, which made the experience much more meaningful. He made getting around the different tourist spots very easy and convenient. He knows the area well and was also great at recommending places to visit, things to try, and local food. What I enjoyed most was his great personality. Messaged Said asking for a tour of Muscat that allowed me to see as much of the city as possible, as I was only there for a day. He created a personalized itinerary that was two parts, one in the morning, one in the evening that was absolutely superb. I saw so much of the city, learned about its history and culture and saw sites that were truly beautiful. I was picked at my hotel in muscat by Said who was the most hospitable human being and let alone a really cool dude. He took me first to visit the sultan quboos mosque, I was in oman in july which was very hot but I had all sights to myself which was a plus, then the opera house we visited, quram beach, then walked along the corniche, tried omani halwa, then proceeded to muttrah souq, where there are many souvenirs to buy, he hiked the muttrah fort with me , this is a must, which has amazing views of the city, I was then driven to see old muscat where Said showed me an amazing view from the top and then the sultans colorful palace with all the surrounding govt buildings. We then went for lunch at a DELICIOUS fish restaurant with grilled fish, hummus, breD, and rice. Said showed me an amazing day in muscat. I had 3 other excursions around oman with him.
