Uw avontuur begint bij Gullfoss Café, naast de iconische Gullfoss Waterval – een van IJslands meest adembenemende natuurlijke bezienswaardigheden. Deze krachtige waterval met twee niveaus duikt 32 meter in een ruige canyon en dient als het perfecte decor om uw gletsjerreis te beginnen. Ontmoet je gidsen bij het bord Mountaineers of Iceland op de parkeerplaats, waar je aan boord stapt van een speciaal aangepaste Super Truck voor de rit naar de hooglanden.
Vanuit Gullfoss voert uw Super Truck reis u diep door het ruige binnenland van IJsland, richting het Geldingafell berggebied. De rit duurt 35–60 minuten, afhankelijk van weg- en weersomstandigheden, en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op vulkanische landschappen en besneeuwde vlakten. Deze off-road trektocht is onderdeel van het avontuur, een spannende vooruitblik op de gletsjerervaring die voor ons ligt.
Op het Langjökull Glacier basiskamp maak je je klaar met warme sneeuwpakken, helmen, handschoenen en laarzen voordat je een volledige veiligheidsbriefing en sneeuwscooterinstructies ontvangt. Zodra je er klaar voor bent, spring je op je sneeuwscooter en begin je aan een spannende rit van een uur over de op een na grootste gletsjer van IJsland. Afhankelijk van het zicht en het weer, stop je voor foto’s en geniet je van uitzichten op ijzige plateaus en vulkanische pieken. Het hoogtepunt van de tour is een bezoek aan een natuurlijk gevormde ijsgrot, onlangs ontdekt en veilig toegankelijk gemaakt met een op maat gemaakte ingang. Stap in een betoverende wereld van blauw kristalijs en unieke formaties die door de eeuwen heen gevormd zijn door gletsjerkrachten. Na het verkennen van de grot keer je per sneeuwscooter terug naar het basiskamp, waarna je terug door de hooglanden naar Gullfoss rijdt.

- Een geldig rijbewijs is vereist om de sneeuwscooter te besturen.
- Sneeuwscooters worden gedeeld door twee personen. Een enkele rijder per sneeuwscooter is mogelijk tegen een meerprijs.
- De minimumleeftijd om mee te doen aan de tour is 6 jaar, en alle kinderen moeten worden begeleid door een volwassene.
- Per volwassene is slechts één kind toegestaan op deze tour.
- Kleed je passend voor het weer. In IJsland is het altijd verstandig om warme, waterdichte kleding te dragen, omdat het weer snel kan veranderen.

Good fun up on glacier. Cave part not open (usual apparently??) so do not book and pay for that part. Non involving guides, but still a great experience.
Amazing experience from start to finish! Everything was very well organized. The snowmobile activity was amazing! A big thank you to Thor, who was very friendly and explained everything clearly throughout the excursion. The view of the glacier as well as the ice cave were absolutely stunning and fascinating. The scenery is definitely worth seeing! I highly recommend this activity!

great experience! If you’ve never snowmobiled before, it’s a bit intense for a rookie. I quickly learned I wasn’t cut out to drive solo so ditched my snowmobile and rode on the back of our guides and still got to enjoy the views. Raymond was awesome!!!

There was no ice cave. We were charged extra for an experience we didn't get. We should have been charged for the regular snowmobiling tour. The other guests said the same thing.

Our guide was fantastic! The walk to the caves took about 15 minutes. The cave in the pictures is no longer open (closed in December 2025), but they showed us others.

I packed a lot of unnecessary clothing for my trip to Iceland. They provided a very warm snow suit, helmet, gloves and boot covers. Half of what I packed was unnecessary for this adventure.

I'm sorry, but it sucks! In the end we take a bus then we change and we take a bus, all to do 15 minutes of snowmobiling then a stop and again 15 minutes of snowmobiling. 900 € for 4 people is 450 € an hour for a snowmobile so it sucks. When I complained on whatsapp, I was blocked!!! Good customer respect. On the other hand 5 stars silfra diving, search for aurora by boat, and visit whales.

An extemely well organised tour. All relevant warm weather gear supplied. My partner had a slight issue with safety briefings not been adhered to but after letting our main guide Edgar know things were quickly and satisfactorily sorted. Would highly recommend.
