Rondleiding door Romeins Tarragona
Beschrijving
We treden in de voetsporen van keizer Hadrianus die in het jaar 122 na Christus in Tarraco aankwam om een van de mooiste steden van zijn hele rijk te bezoeken. We beginnen het pad in het grote tarraco-model om verder te gaan naar de Praetoriaanse toren waar we de Tempel van Augustus zullen oproepen en de imposante gewelven zullen bezoeken die het Provinciaal Forum en de tribunes van het Circus ondersteunen. Aan het einde van de tour, naast het amfitheater, onthullen we de sleutels van het laatste entertainmentgebouw dat tijdens het bewind van Hadrianus in de stad is gebouwd.

Itinere is a guided tours enterprise located in the old town of Tarragona, the most important city in the South of Catalonia. In fact, this city has a lot of Roman remains and we decided to do a guided tour in the city center. The tour was very interesting and we could learn a lot about Tarragona and his history. In fact, we could see some sightseeing places like Archaeologic walk, the amphitheater, the Roman circus and some other interesting Roman points. Also, we could see from outside the cathedral. Really, the guide was very professional and the tour was excellent. Very recommendable.
'We're more like the Romans than we know' This was the refrain of our guide, who was very knowledgeable and really made history come alive. The two hours whizzed by (aided by a stop for a Vermut in a local bar)! I enjoyed it so much, I'd do it again if I came back yo Tarragona. Please note that because of the terrain, it's not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
It was a pleasure to immerse ourselves in the Roman Tarragona of Adrià (our guide). The tour is perfect to understand the birth and evolution of our Roman culture, the explanations become very enjoyable and fun. Thank you, Itinere, we'll repeat.
Last Thursday, September 25, 2025 we took a guided tour of Tarragona with Itinere. We really enjoyed the explanations of the guide, the Roman past of the city and rediscovering the city. They have radio guides that made it easy for us not to miss anything they told us. We would definitely repeat a visit.
