Begin aan een diepgaande reis door de aangrijpende hoofdstukken van de geschiedenis met onze Auschwitz-Birkenau-tour. Deze uitgebreide verkenning zorgt ervoor dat de herinnering aan de slachtoffers in ere wordt gehouden. Geniet van een zorgeloze start met een ophaalservice bij je hotel of een vast ontmoetingspunt. Met vervoer heen en terug, toegangsprijzen en een vooraf geplande toegang vermijd je lange wachtrijen voor tickets. Een deskundige museumgids leidt uw groep, variërend van 16 tot 30 deelnemers, door de aangrijpende plekken van Auschwitz-Birkenau. Hoogtepunten: •Auschwitz I: bekijk de huiveringwekkende "Arbeit macht frei"-poort, bewijs van wreedheden in oorlogstijd en de overblijfselen van een gaskamer en crematorium. •Auschwitz II - Birkenau: Verken de Death Gate, de eerste selectiehelling, de kazerne van de gevangenen en de ruïnes van gaskamers en crematoria. Uw reis naar Auschwitz begint met het ophalen van een eerder bepaalde plaats in Krakau vanuit een hotel of appartement of van ons ontmoetingspunt. De reis van Krakau naar Auschwitz duurt ongeveer 1,5 uur. Informatie over uw ophaaltijd krijgt u één dag voor de reis.
Bij aankomst in Auschwitz ontmoet je je gids. Samen ga je het museum binnen en in nog geen 2 uur wandelen laat hij je een van de donkerste plekken uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog zien. Tijdens je bezoek aan deze plek zie je: de poort "Arbeit mach frei", de laatste gaskamer die het heeft overleefd en veel tentoonstellingen met foto's en overblijfselen van gevangenen
Na de pauze brengt de chauffeur je naar het tweede kamp, Auschwitz II Birkenau. Je ontmoet je gids weer voor de toegangspoort. Tijdens de meer dan een uur durende wandeling laat je gids je het tweede kamp zien, het grootste concentratiekamp gebouwd door de nazi's. In dit kamp zie je: "Death Gate" met de sporen die naar het kamp leiden, de loshelling waar de treinen met gevangenen aankwamen, de ruïnes van de gaskamers en crematoria, het monument voor de slachtoffers van de Holocaust en gebouwen waar gevangenen leefde.
Na het voltooien van de tour, zal de chauffeur je naar je hotel / hostel / appartement in Krakau brengen.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Volgens de regelgeving van het museum moet ELKE TOUROPERATOR eerst een volledige namenlijst verzamelen en pas daarna kan hij of zij een toegangstijd ontvangen. Ter bevestiging sturen ze alle namen, die later niet meer kunnen worden gewijzigd. We vragen om het door u geselecteerde tijdstip, maar de uiteindelijke beslissing hangt af van het museum, dat gebaseerd is op hun richtlijnen en bouwlimieten. Houd er rekening mee dat dit de populairste plaats in Polen is en dagelijks door 8-10.000 mensen wordt bezocht. De toegangstijd wordt ook beïnvloed door verschillende ceremonies en VIP-groepen waarover het museum niemand kan informeren. - TRANSPORT: Voor transport maken we gebruik van minibussen en minibusjes. Indien u last heeft van wagenziekte of andere problemen die verband houden met het reizen met de auto, verzoeken wij u dit vooraf aan ons door te geven. De reistijd is afhankelijk van de weers- en wegomstandigheden en kan daarom langer zijn.
- BEZOEK: Het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum trekt dagelijks vele bezoekers. Het is mogelijk niet haalbaar om in uw eigen tempo te verkennen vanwege het grote aantal bezoekers. Het is essentieel om gepast en respectvol gedrag te handhaven in de kampen. De dresscode is smart casual en weerspiegelt de plechtigheid van de site. Activiteiten zoals eten, roken en luid gedrag zijn ten strengste verboden in het museumgebouw.
- OPHALEN: Een paar hotels in Krakau bevinden zich in gebieden met beperkt verkeer. Uw ophaalservice wordt geregeld vanaf het dichtstbijzijnde toegankelijke punt en u ontvangt een melding.
- VERTREK: Vanwege het beleid van het museum, de capaciteitsbeperkingen binnen de gebouwen en het grote aantal bezoekers kan de ophaaltijd onderhevig zijn aan wijzigingen. Wij vragen vriendelijk om uw begrip en stellen voor om andere activiteiten op de dag niet te plannen, omdat het verzetten van de planning een uitdaging kan vormen. We begrijpen dat onze klanten onze stad zoveel mogelijk willen verkennen en we streven ernaar om u vooraf op de hoogte te stellen van de ophaaltijd. Normaal gesproken nemen we ongeveer 3-7 dagen vóór uw bezoek contact met iedereen op, zodat u uw dag dienovereenkomstig kunt plannen.
- DOCUMENTEN: Omdat het in het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum verplicht is om uw persoonlijke gegevens te bevestigen, moet u bij het maken van een reservering de volledige namen van alle deelnemers opgeven. Zorg er bovendien voor dat u uw paspoort of identiteitsbewijs bij u heeft, aangezien dit bij de ingang van het museum kan worden gecontroleerd. Als u dit niet doet, kan dit leiden tot ontzegging van de toegang tot het museum.
- BAGFORMAAT: Houd er rekening mee dat toegang tot het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum niet is toegestaan met grote tassen of rugzakken. De maximaal toegestane afmeting is 30 cm x 20 cm x 10 cm. U kunt uw koffers veilig achterlaten in uw auto, die tijdens uw bezoek op slot wordt gedaan.
- LUNCH: Lunch is niet inbegrepen in het tourpakket. Er is niet voldoende tijd voor een reguliere lunchpauze tussen bezoeken aan Auschwitz (1e kamp) en Birkenau (2e kamp), dus het is raadzaam om een snack of wat te eten mee te nemen om de honger te stillen. Wilt u echter liever een stevigere maaltijd, dan kunt u er voor kiezen om tegen meerprijs lunchboxen via ons te bestellen. De offerte sturen wij u de dag vóór de excursie. Houd er rekening mee dat er op de parkeerplaats alleen automaten met snacks beschikbaar zijn, aangezien het restaurant momenteel in aanbouw is.
- VEILIGHEID: Zorg ervoor dat u een veiligheidscontrole ondergaat, vergelijkbaar met luchthavenprocedures, voordat u het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum betreedt.
- WEER: Onze activiteiten verlopen ongeacht de weersomstandigheden. U brengt tot 70% van uw tijd buiten door, vooral in Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Daarom adviseren wij u om u overeenkomstig het weer te kleden en water mee te nemen, vooral op zonnige dagen.
- KINDEREN: Kinderen moeten worden begeleid door een volwassene en voor jongere kinderen zijn kinderzitjes beschikbaar. Vanwege het potentieel traumatische karakter van het bezoek aan het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum raden wij aan dat bezoekers minimaal 13 jaar oud zijn.

Well worth the visit, found it very moving and thought provoking However our driver Adam was continuously on his phone from moment he collected us to The end of trip. There was no information about the activity on route just that it would take 1 hr 20 Mins to get there !

The transport, driver and tour guide were excellent . I was kept well informed in advance of the visit . Just disappointed that we originally booked a 9 am pick up which changed to 5.30 am .

The communication leading up to tour was excellent - we received regular text messages and communication about what to expect, travel to our destination, and we pre-ordered lunch from our driver - all best in class. What we were not expecting was to be "herded" in a very large group with other tourists with differing walking capabilities. The tour guide walked extremely fast and did not check in/wait for the full group. She was also hard to understand in English, and she did not seem to understand the needs of those on her tour, not did she seem to care about our understanding her or our comfort. My recommendations are that guests are offered a slower or faster walking tour group and that native English speakers provide feedback to the tour guide.

The driver picked us up at our hotel, he gave us information during the journey about what to expect and timings for the tour, the guide Anna was excellent, such passion for what she does, the information she passed on to us and the way she told the story was brilliant.
