This was an excellent tour! Visiting from New York - it gave us a great idea of what England has to offer in terms of food. The tour guide was also amazing - very detailed and knew a lot about what we were doing. Highly reccomend to anyone visiting!
Our tour guide, Victoria, did an absolutely wonderful job! Would highly recommend this tour. Great food and lovely neighborhood :)
"We loved this tour! Sila is very knowledgeable and we could ask her anything. She is charming! Another bonus was that we had the tour tailored just for us. We highly recommend Sila as a tour guide! 5 STARS!!!’’
We had an amazing food tour with Victoria where we not only tasted great food, but met the amazing people behind it all. She was a great host and felt like a friend by the end of the tour!
We have taken other food tours, and this was by far the most expensive and least satisfing tour! This was the first time our tour guide sat with us during our tasting experience, and She (Victoria) ate the food from our plates! On the second stop, which was an Indian food dish, she had OUR leftovers (which was a little rice and sauce) boxed to go for her! She took us to places not on the tour, and asked for samples, which made for an uncomfortable situation for both us and the vendors. The tour was a long 6 hours with information about Greenwich that was totally irrelevant and unnecessary to the tour. She attempted to give us a "gift" of bottled beer, which she purchased at a local liquor store (part of the tour) and said we could drink it at our last stop. We didn't think this was possible, and when she asked the proprietor, he said definitely not! She then said we could open them outside, and keep it inside a brown bag! This experience was EXPENSIVE, UNCOMFORTABLE, and TOO LONG! Do not waste your money!
Had an amazing time eating our way through Greenwich with Victoria. She was knowledgeable and so much fun. You won’t be disappointed. Come hungry
Hands down the best food tour we have done. Victoria was our guide and she is fabulous! Her passion for food and flavor came through at every stop. The restaurants and menu items were superb. Her knowledge in the English customs and traditions helped us to understand the reasons why (no spoilers here, you have to take the tour). The food was ample and our appetites were satiated. The location was a little out of the way for us but the Greenwich area is well worth the visit. Highly recommend!
We spent a wonderful afternoon tasting foods and exploring Greenwich with Victoria of Greenwich Royal Tours. Victoria our guide is from Greenwich and made us feel at home as we toured the market, restaurants, and food shops in the area.
To our luck but Graham’s bad luck, the other family cancelled. We had him all to ourselves and what a treat! From the greeting to the goodbye he was warm and engaging and was always inclusive of our 17 year old, the true “foodie” of the family. Graham also spoke about Greenwich it’s history and it’s current changes. But on to the tour. Think of it as a 4 course meal with exercise in between. No spoiler alert so I won’t mention the type of food but middle one or main course was spectacular and it’s not my favorite type of food. The tour ended under the Cutty Sark with tea and scones and a chance to digest and talk and continue conversations and friendships begun on the tour. I plan on telling my travel agent about Graham and wouldn’t hesitate sending my friends to take this tour.
The tour consisted of several of the beaten path eateries and pubs. Graham, the guide, had an excellent rapport with all of the managers and owners at the establishments. He was thoughtful in his explanations of Greenwich and London's evolution into what they are today. The main meal was not over-spiced which was greatly appreciated by our group. He helped us navigate the ever evolving food scene of London and made recommendations on other things we should try during our visit.
