Onze Great Ocean Road-tour is een must-do kustbestemming om te bezoeken als je naar Melbourne komt. We brengen de dag kronkelend en kronkelend door langs de spectaculaire Great Ocean Road en genieten van geweldige fotomomenten langs de kust. Onderweg stop je om knuffelige koala's in het wild te zien. Geniet van een van 's werelds meest spectaculaire kustritten terwijl je reist op de wereldberoemde Great Ocean Road Tour, die op de National Heritage-lijst staat. Bekijk de overvloed aan Australische dieren in het wild, terwijl je de prachtige surfstranden bekijkt en wandel door het eeuwenoude regenwoud, voordat je in de middag arriveert om getuige te zijn van het wonder van deze gigantische kalksteenstapels die bekend staan als de 12 apostelen in het Port Campbell National Park. Onze tour begint om 07.35 uur en verlaat Melbourne. We gaan over de Westgate Bridge richting Geelong.
Reis langs de majestueuze Great Ocean Road vanuit Anglesea. We zullen de hele dag onze ogen uitkijken om Australische dieren in het wild te spotten. Als je geluk hebt, zie je misschien enkele kangoeroes en luister je naar de liedjes van prachtige vogels afkomstig uit Australië, zoals kookaburra's, koningspapegaaien, gele roodborstjes, feeënkoninkjes en nog veel meer.
We begeven ons naar ons eerste hoogtepunt, de Memorial Arch. De boog voor het oorlogsmonument, geklasseerd als nationaal erfgoed, is de toegangspoort tot de Great Ocean Road. Stop voor een foto voor het bord Great Ocean Road voordat we ons een weg banen langs een van de grootste kustwegen ter wereld.
We bezoeken het schilderachtige kustplaatsje Apollo Bay in het zuidwesten van Victoria. Apollo Bay, gelegen aan de oostkant van Cape Otway, is een natuurlijke badplaats waar u de rijke regenwouden vol watervallen, beekjes, weelderige vegetatie en exotische dieren in het wild kunt verkennen. We stoppen hier voor de lunch op eigen kosten. Geniet van een café-diner of een picknick op het strand – de keuze is aan jou.
Verken het Great Otway National Park met je gids en leer alles over dit eeuwenoude regenwoud. Zie eeuwenoude eucalyptusbomen, duizend jaar oude varens die uittorenen boven een warm, gematigd regenwoudgebied, een verscheidenheid aan inheemse vogels en allerlei soorten dieren in het wild.
Laat je betoveren door de beroemde 12 apostelen en geniet van de pracht en praal van de rotsformaties. Laat de torenhoge kliffen je in de schaduw stellen terwijl het woeste water van de branding op de rotsen beneden beukt. Wees getuige van de veranderende kleuren van de lucht en de zee terwijl de zon langzaam achter de gigantische kalkstenen zakt. Verdwaal in de natuurlijke schoonheid van Loch Ard Gorge terwijl je van onze gids wat geschiedenis leert van de beroemde scheepswrakken in het gebied. Er waren meer dan 200 scheepswrakken tussen Port Fairy en Cape Otway. Luister naar het aangrijpende verhaal van twee jonge overlevenden van het scheepswrak van Loch Ard in 1878. Bewonder de formaties van Island Archway, Razorback en de Salt and Pepper Shakers

Joel was an amazing guide and kept everyone’s spirits up throughout the long road trip. Of course, visiting the Great Ocean Road was incredible, but what made the experience even more special was spotting koalas together, going on hikes, and getting the chance to visit his hometown. Those moments gave me a genuine local experience that I wouldn’t have had otherwise, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you, Joel, for making the trip so memorable!

I really loved the trip and had so much fun, the place was majestic. However, I was really disappointed sonce we didn’t go to otway naational park, as this is the reason of my booking decision. It is listed amongst the itinerary destinations so I really don’t why this happened… :) . I hope this error is fixed.

Really good tour with a lot of stops and activities included. Our guide Anthony explained much about the history and the wildlife of the Great Ocean Road which was very interesting. Even got to see Koalas and Kangaroos!

Wonderful tour with very knowledgeable tour guide Kiwi! Beautiful drive along the southern Australian coast and all the stops. Lunch was good. We stayed on time and everyone was pleasant. I enjoyed Kiwi’s narration along the way, but some non-English speakers had a hard time following. Be sure to request language translation, if needed. Otherwise, awesome!

Absolutely incredible experience visiting the Twelve Apostles. The entire day felt like something out of a movie — dramatic coastline, massive cliffs, and views that honestly don’t look real in person. Every stop along the route was beautiful, but seeing the Apostles at sunset was unforgettable. The tour itself was very well organized, comfortable, and paced perfectly. Our guide, Anthony was knowledgeable and gave great background on the history and geography of the area without overdoing it. I also appreciated having enough time at each stop to actually take it in instead of feeling rushed
