De Grape Train Escape van de Verde Canyon Railroad is een avondevenement met wijnproeverijen aan boord met verschillende wijngaarden uit Arizona en daarbuiten. Aan boord van de 'Grape Train Escape' krijgen passagiers een selectie van geselecteerde wijnen geserveerd. Gasten zullen ook genieten van speciale kazen en hors d'oeuvres, gekozen als aanvulling op de aanbevolen wijnen. Viogniers van elke wijnmakerij zullen aan boord zijn om het terroir en de technieken van het wijnmaken te bespreken. Dit evenement is bedoeld voor passagiers van 21 jaar en ouder. Er kan om een bewijs van leeftijd worden gevraagd.

Wat is er mooier dan te genieten van wijn terwijl u geniet van het landschap van het zuidwesten? Dit is een relatief nieuwe combinatie voor de Verde Valley in Arizona, maar het wordt snel bekend als een fijne regio voor de druiventeelt. Geniet van auto's in de open lucht waar het weelderige oeverlandschap van de zomer, met luifels van populieren, humeurige moessonmiddagen en diepe karmozijnrode kliffen, een goed glas wijn complimenteert!
Breng in het depot zeker een bezoek aan het John Bell Museum, de thuisbasis van de geschiedenis van de spoorweg en artefacten uit de begintijd, evenals een schat aan informatie over Clarkdale, Jerome en de Yavapai-Apache Nation.
De trein rijdt op dezelfde sporen die in 1911 zijn aangelegd na de rivier de Verde. De rivier is het grootste deel van je reis zichtbaar.
SOB Canyon en de 150 ft hoge brug zijn hoogtepunten van de reis. Terugkijkend vanaf de brug en door de kloof is gewoonweg prachtig!

A great experience riding the train and getting amazing views of the scenery. The wine tasting was absolutely great with a wonderful selection of wines that were given out for the tasting. If you are looking for great views and good time, this is the adventure to do.

If you get motion sick, I would hesitate, we had a little bit of a hard time with that. Otherwise, everything was so amazing. We are glad we went. The view was easier to handle from outside and the interior was really cozy. Staff was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of fun information along the entire trip. We were able to also enjoy the starlight sky, which was amazing from the outside car.

Enjoyed the ride although the return trip was in complete darkness so you couldn't see anything so that was sort of boring!

That the wines were not good nor did they offer a variety that would appeal to a person that likes a sweeter wine.

It was an awesome experience! The time before the train ride was much less desirable. The food options were limited and mostly fried food. There were few vegetarian food options (only 1 which was a salad with no meat added.) There was no wifi provided on the train, which can be considered good or bad depending on your perspective.
