Gasten hebben de zeldzame mogelijkheid om zich aan te kleden, een levende bijenkorf te openen en direct te communiceren met duizenden honingbijen onder begeleiding van een lokale imker. Met kleine groepen en een volledig interactief format biedt elke sessie een meer persoonlijke en meeslepende ervaring dan traditionele rondleidingen. Je leert niet alleen hoe honing wordt gemaakt, je neemt ook deel aan het proces en oogst een monster rechtstreeks uit de bijenkorf. Gehost door een lokale Kaaiman imkerij, biedt deze ervaring een unieke verbinding met de natuurlijke omgeving van het eiland die de meeste bezoekers nooit zien.

Reis naar een eigen bijenstal en stap in de wereld van de bijenteelt in deze hands-on ervaring. Na het aantrekken in volledige beschermende kleding, open je een levende korf, observeer je duizenden bijen aan het werk en leer je hoe honing wordt geproduceerd. Gasten kunnen frames van bijen hanteren, verschillende leden van de kolonie spotten en een monster verse honing rechtstreeks uit de raat oogsten. Deze kleine groepservaring biedt een zeldzame kans om in een veilige, begeleide omgeving met een werkende korf te communiceren. Dit is geen passieve tour, het is een volledig interactieve ervaring.

- Rondleidingen duren ongeveer 1,5 uur.
- Wat is de minimumleeftijd voor de bijenstaltour?
- Deelnemers moeten minimaal 10 jaar oud zijn. Personen van 10 tot 17 jaar moeten worden begeleid door een ouder of voogd.
- Wat is het maximaal toegestane aantal personen op de bijenstaltour?
- We beperken de tourgrootte tot 4 personen om een intieme en verrijkte ervaring te bieden. Privérondleidingen voor grotere groepen kunnen worden geregeld.
- Hoe moet ik me kleden voor de rondleiding door de bijenstal?
- Comfortabele lichte kleding en sneakers.
- Zal ik gestoken worden?
- Het is hoogst onwaarschijnlijk. Hoewel onze bijenpakken uitstekende bescherming bieden, kunnen we niet garanderen dat ze steekvast zijn. Onze bijenpakken bieden drielaagse geventileerde bescherming, waardoor wordt voorkomen dat bijen je bereiken met hun angel. Jij wint en de bijen zijn gered! - Honingbijen sterven nadat ze steken.

Learned so much about beekeeping! It was a fascinating experience. A tiny bit tough to connect with the proprietor on the day of as he meets you with his truck by a gated roadway. There is no building. This is a hobby business which makes it all the more appealing. Do not miss!

Jamal was super, explained alot about bees that you wonder about but never realized. We were able to partake in honey collection and use of the smokers and why the bees were were swarming. My fiance and I really enjoyed this and would encourage this as a must do.
Such a cool and unique way to start our trip! It was awesome to get to do something that was a little bit unique so much from our tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and patient answered all of our questions. We got to see the bees, including the Queen be up close in personal. Highly recommend!

This is one of the coolest and unique things to do when in Grand Cayman! The bees were so awesome and we learned a ton! Our guide who's also the owner of the apiary was amazing! Super knowledgeable and informative, taught us a lot and answers all the questions! We got to see the bees, interact with them, feed them water, as well as collect some honey! Definitely a highlight of our trip!
