De Golden Circle is de meest iconische bestemming vanuit Reykjavik. Op deze route geniet je van een prachtig landschap en bezoek je de drie beroemde plekken van IJsland: het geothermische gebied Geysir, de Gullfoss-waterval en het nationale park Thingvellir.
De Thingvellir zijn zowel in historisch al in geologisch opzicht een belangrijke locatie. Hier werd het eerste parlement van IJsland gesticht in het jaar 930. Hier komen de Noord-Amerikaanse en Euraziatische tektonische platen samen.
Strokkur is het broertje of de beroemde Geysir die niet meer actief is. Strokkur is echter nog steeds zeer actief en blaast elke 7 tot 10 minuten water de lucht in. Bij deze halte kun je ook eten kopen.
Gullfoss is een waterval van de witte rivier Hvítá. De waterval bestaat uit twee delen van respectievelijk 11 en 21 meter, waar het water met 100 m3 per seconde naar beneden raast.
Kerið is een iconische vulkanische krater met een diepte van 55 meter.
Misschien wel het hoogtepunt van de dag is de tijd die u doorbrengt in de wereldberoemde Blue Lagoon SPA. Dit natuurwonder is beroemd om zijn geneeskrachtige wateren en u zult vertrekken met een gevoel van vernieuwing en verkwikking.

Smooth pick up, friendly and knowledgeable guide, excellent combination of sights. Addi was very organized and provided well informed tips to get the most from each stop. My only suggestion to improve would be to allocate a little more time to Kerid crater perhaps by subtracting a little time from Thingvellir National Park.
Despite horrible weather the tour was wonderful. The Blue Lagoon was heaven after a cold and wet day. Our driver, Addi, was awesome, providing us with local history and lore as well as the geological background of the sites.
Very knowledgeable driver, Halli, went above and beyond to show and tell us stories we weren’t expecting. Plenty of time to shop for souvenirs along the way. Best value for the money! Highly recommend.
What an experience! We saw the golden circle and Blue Lagoon. It was a long day but worth every minute as you fill a single day with the best that South Westerm Iceland has to offer. Our guide Sigfus Thor was incredibly knowledgeable and always had an hidden gem to share or show at every stop. All the fees were covered, we just walked into every event without waiting. We would highly recommend this trip if youre looking to hit all the main tourist attractions and have a limited time.
This tour covers it all We went to the Blue Lagoon first and it wasn't crowded. Then we went on the Golden Circle. It gave us a great overview of the area. Our guide, Sigfus,was excellent He gave us so much information about the area as we went along in a very entertaining manner. This tour was well worth taking.
Our tour with Sigfús Thor was amazing! Sigfús was a wonderful, knowledgeable and funny guide. And everything you get to see on this tour made it worth the investment of both time and money.
