Geniet van een rondleiding door de Golden Circle - de ontspannende manier, en verken enkele van de beroemdste bezienswaardigheden van IJsland, waaronder Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterval en de Geysir warmwaterbron. Plus, zie de uitbarstende geiser Strokkur in Haukadalur geothermische gebied en bezoek de Secret Lagoon warmwaterbron. Je tour begint met een pick-up halverwege de ochtend van het stadscentrum of de cruisehaven. Stap aan boord van een minibusje met klimaatregeling voor de Golden Circle-route. Stop in de loop van de ochtend bij de Gullfoss Waterval, de Geysir Geiser en Thingvellir National Park, een UNESCO Werelderfgoed, waar de Noord-Amerikaanse en Euraziatische tektonische platen botsen. Tijdens deze tour brengt u ook vrije tijd door met genieten in het Secret Lagoon-warmwaterbronzwembad.

De Golden Circle-tour is dé tour om te ondernemen als u slechts één tour maakt in IJsland! De duur van de haltes varieert, maar het is (ongeveer) ten minste 30 min. bij elk van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden.
U maakt een korte wandeling door Thingvellir, een nationaal park dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. Het bevindt zich direct tussen de Noord-Amerikaanse en Euraziatische tektonische platen. De geschiedenis hier is ook fascinerend; Thingvellir was de oorspronkelijke locatie van wat nu het oudste parlement ter wereld is, opgericht in 930 v. Chr.
Een andere halte bevindt zich in het geothermische gebied in de buurt van de Haukadalur-vallei. Dit heuvelachtige gebied heeft een heleboel warmwaterbronnen, maar het is het meest bekend om zijn geisers. De grootste, Geysir, gaf de wereld het woord geiser, terwijl Strokkur de meest actieve in het gebied is. Hier schiet het water tot 30 meter hoog elke vijf tot tien minuten.
Bewonder de indrukwekkende Gullfoss-waterval. De enorme kracht van de watervallen is fascinerend en haar geschiedenis is inspirerend.
Op deze tour krijgt u ook de tijd om te ontspannen als een 'local'. Secret Lagoon is het oudste zwembad van IJsland, gevuld met water dat naar binnen druppelt vanuit een aangrenzend geothermisch gebied. Als extra bonus heeft het ook nog een kleine geiser. De locatie kon niet serener aanvoelen, en u zult ongetwijfeld de spanning opgebouwd tijdens uw vakantie in het heilzame water kwijtraken.

Absolutely superb!! Rakel was the perfect guide. She gave us lots of personal insights to Icelandic culture and showed us places no other tour groups had found. She was funny and friendly and it’s clear that she truly loves her job. We got lucky and only had five people on the tour. For so many reasons, this was one of the best days we had in Iceland and I will remember it the rest of my life!
Rakel was a fantastic guide on an incredible tour. We learned so much. The highlight for me was the tectonic rift followed by the secret lagoon. Great day!

Wonderful! The guide, Trond, was very professional and gave explanations along the way, answering all our questions and framing our visits with schedules that were generous enough to see the sites while still allowing us to do all the planned activities. The minibus is very modern, with USB ports for everyone. We even received a text message at the appointed time indicating the exact arrival time. Due to the pace, however, it is better to be in good health...
Trond was a great guide. He was entertaining, informative, relaxed and organized. Without feeling rushed, we had a very full and interesting day. We visited the national park and stood on the teutonic rift, saw the gorgeous waterfalls and geysers and had a soak in the secret lagoon. He even made time for us to stop at a favorite ice cream shop and dairy farm. It was some of the freshest and best ice cream we have had. We definitely recommend this excursion.
Trond our guide was fantastic at explaining the sights and life in Iceland. The bus was very comfortable and the sights were worth the visit. Trond tried to get us to the sights when the crowds were a little less. The stop at the Secret Lagoon was so relaxing!! Would love to have him guide me again in the future. Small groups are the way to go!!
The Golden Circle was a great tour. What made it absolutely magical was our guide Rakel! She was funny, knowledgeable and the love of her country shone through with every question she answered.

Great tour. BUT ALMOST MISSED IT. when we got off the ship if our son and daughter-in-law had not been there to help locate the van we would not be found it. It was almost 3 blocks away from the port in a parking lot. It was not with the rest of the vans and tour buses. They need to do a better job have guests know how to get to where the transportation is at. The tour guide was excellent as was the tour. The reason I gave a three stars instead of five is because of the lack of communication on where the van was located.
