Verken het Gobustan-museum, oude rotstekeningen en moddervulkanen tijdens een privétour van 4 uur met een lokale gids. Gobustan National Park is een van de populairste bezienswaardigheden van Azerbeidzjan en trekt jaarlijks duizenden toeristen. Het is opgenomen in de UNESCO-werelderfgoedlijst. De stenen beelden die in dit gebied zijn gevonden, dateren van 5.000 tot 20.000 jaar geleden. Een van de meest opwindende beelden is de rituele dans van de vroege mens. Er zijn veel overeenkomsten tussen de stenen beelden van Gobustan en afbeeldingen die in andere delen van de wereld te vinden zijn. Het bootmotief is een typisch voorbeeld van kunst uit de Bronstijd. Tijdens deze reis wordt u begeleid door een professionele en lokale Engelssprekende gids. Na het bezoek aan Gobustan krijg je ook direct ervaring met moddervulkanen (geen zorgen, deze vulkanen zijn daadwerkelijk koud!). Onze gids zal ook nuttige informatie delen over het land, de cultuur en het leven in het algemeen om uw verblijf in Bakoe veel interessanter en spannender te maken!

We zullen een privéauto/privéminibus gebruiken (afhankelijk van het aantal mensen dat deelneemt aan de tour) om Gobustan National Reserve te bereiken. In het Gobustan Museum krijg je uitgebreide informatie van je gids en verken je het leven van de oude inwoners van Gobustan door middel van interactieve schermen en exposities. Na een bezoek aan het Gobustan-museum gaat u verder naar de berg om echte rotsschilderingen in het openluchtmuseum te zien. De rotstekeningen (steengravures) in Gobustan zijn net zo belangrijk als de Chauvet-grotten en werden millennia lang onaangeroerd gelaten totdat ze in de jaren dertig van de vorige eeuw werden ontdekt. Je krijgt de kans om getuige te zijn van die prehistorische gravures, inclusief afbeeldingen van oude bewoners die een tribale dans lijken te dansen!
Later gaat de tour verder naar het gebied met moddervulkanen, op 20 minuten van het Gobustan National Museum. Azerbeidzjan behoudt de eerste plaats ter wereld voor het aantal moddervulkanen. Ongeveer 300 moddervulkanen zijn te vinden in Azerbeidzjan - aan de kust, in de zee en op eilanden. Tijdens deze reis krijg je een grote kans om deze zeldzame en actieve vulkanen van heel dichtbij te zien. Sommige mensen zweren bij de medische voordelen van de modder, dus het is misschien de moeite waard om het op je huid te proberen! Belangrijke notitie: In natte seizoenen/regenachtige weersomstandigheden kunnen de moddervulkanen erg modderig zijn en onmogelijk te bereiken met de auto. Daarom wordt in geval van regenachtig weer/slechte wegomstandigheden de reis naar moddervulkanen vervangen door een bezoek aan de Bibiheybat-moskee op de terugweg naar het stadscentrum.
Je tour eindigt in Sahil Park, een van de centrale parken van Bakoe. We kunnen u ook bij uw accommodatie afzetten, als u daar de voorkeur aan geeft.

I had an amazing day with our guide Seymur and our driver. There was only one other person on the tour, which I think made everything go a bit smoother for the day. We first went to the mud volcanoes which were really impressive. We needed to transfer to a 4x4 because of the road conditions and the mud. I would highly advise boots/wellies in the autumn/winter as they suggest when booking, which I clearly didn't see! I had comfortable walking shoes (these were great for the rest of the tour) which were completely caked in mud by the time we were done at the volcanoes - but it was definitely worth it! We were provided bags for our shoes, but I wasn't able to keep mine on properly when sinking into the mud (and lost my shoe once or twice). We were helped to clean our shoes before transfering back to the original vehicle. I should also note, there is another option that is not off-road at all and you are able to stay clean, away from the mud, but we wanted to get up close to the volcanoes! Next we went to the Gobustan Museum where we learned about what Gobustan was like hundreds of thousands of years ago (covered by the sea) and what it's like now. We also learned about the animals and people that used to live in the area long ago - as well as all of the petroglyphs in Gobustan. Finally, we went to see the petroglyphs which ranged from 40,000 years ago to just a few thousand years ago. I would highly recommend this tour!
