Rijd over de Seward Highway langs de schilderachtige Turnagain Arm naar Whittier. De Glacier Quest Cruise neemt je mee van de schilderachtige badplaats Whittier naar met gletsjers gevulde Blackstone Bay, een dramatische diepwaterfjord waar twee getijdengletsjers en verschillende alpengletsjers wachten. Houd zeeotters, Steller-zeeleeuwen, beren, berggeiten, walvissen en meer in de gaten! Je zult verschillende gletsjers zien, waaronder de Tebenkof-gletsjer, genoemd naar Mikhail Demitrievich Tebenkof, een uitstekende landmeter wiens kaarten de eerste kaarten waren van de wateren van Alaska die in 1852 werden gepubliceerd. Northland-gletsjer rust majestueus en klampt zich vast aan de rand van de torenhoge berg. Blackstone en Beloit zijn gletsjers met getijdenwater die een steil pad hebben uitgehouwen om het zoute water van Prince William Sound te bereiken. Vaar dicht bij deze enorme gletsjers om te kijken naar veelbetekenende tekenen van beweging die worden gesignaleerd door de duidelijke "knal" van het afkalven van gletsjerijs.

Voeg reistijd toe van Anchorage naar Whittier op 90 minuten enkele reis. Reken op 45 minuten van Girdwood naar Whittier. We raden aan om de tunnelingang van 11.30 uur bij de Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel te nemen om op tijd Whittier te bereiken voor de Glacier Quest Cruise. De tunnel is dertig minuten over het hele uur open voor toegang tot Whittier. Na uw cruise gaat de tunnel op het hele uur open om Whittier te verlaten tot 23:00 uur.
De Glacier Quest Cruise reist 45 mijl naar Blackstone Bay, waar zeven gletsjers en glinsterende wateren een spectaculair panoramisch uitzicht bieden vanaf de bergtoppen erboven tot de turquoise zoutwaterzee beneden. Gelieve een uur voor vertrek van de cruise in te checken.

Amazing trip out to see glaciers. Incredible glacier and wildlife views. Wow! It was rainy and foggy when we left Whittier but still had amazing up close views of the glaciers. Highly recommend this excursion. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Food was good.

Fantastic glacier quest cruise. The entire staff is outstanding from booking, to boarding, and the time onboard the vessel. The entire staff is professional and personable. They get you up close and personal with the glaciers, sea life and sea birds. The seafood chowder is amazing!!!! We’d book this again in a heartbeat and plan to be back again in the future. The pilot was excellent at pointing out landmarks along the way and stopped frequently for longer and closer looks at otters, sea lions, etc. Accommodations on the boat were comfortable and roomy, despite the rainy weather which kept visitors indoors for the most part.

This was such as amazing experience. The entire crew were so friendly and helpful. The Salmon Chowder was really good and my friend enjoyed the Veggie Chili. Our tour had us seeing seals, otters, breaching orcas, and a huge chunk of glacier break off. The crew pulled some fresh glacier ice out for us to enjoy in our drinks.
