Geweldig watervalavontuur in het Sierra Madre-gebergte

Boven in het "Sierra Madre-gebergte" in de staat Oaxaca, omgeven door uitbundige vegetatie en spectaculaire landschappen, liggen de "Las Brisas-watervallen" met hun kristalheldere water dat ondergronds brandt uit bronnen en langs de Copalitilla-rivier naar beneden stroomt om u geweldige plekken te bieden waar je kunt allerlei activiteiten ondernemen, zoals wandelen, zwemmen, springen met de touwen of gewoon ontspannen. Na deze geweldige ervaring verwennen we onszelf met een heerlijke, typische lunch.

Op weg naar de watervallen hebben we de kans om het echte Mexico te ontdekken, waarbij we langs verschillende kleine steden en gemeenschappen komen waar de gids aan de groep zal uitleggen hoe de lokale bevolking leeft. We maken een korte stop in een van die dorpen voor een pauze in het toilet, om te genieten van een kopje van de echt goede koffie of chocolade die ze in de bergen produceren en om meer te leren over de traditionele geneeskunde via planten en kruiden die in het bos groeien.
Zodra we de watervallen hebben, zullen we hun kristalheldere bewonderen water dat uit de bergen naar beneden komt. We zullen de tijd hebben om van deze natuurlijke schoonheid te genieten en onszelf te ontspannen door in het zoete water en de natuurlijke jacuzzi's te zwemmen en de omliggende natuurlijke grotten te verkennen.
We sluiten ons avontuur af met een traditionele Oaxaca-maaltijd in een typisch restaurant in de omgeving en rijden terug naar uw accommodatie.

Me and my husband had a phenomenal experience! The drive from our resort was relaxing, the short walk to the falls was absolutely beautiful, and lunch was so delicious my husband ate more food than he probably should have and we were both ready for a siesta when we got back to our hotel. Our tour guide, Saul, was very knowledgeable and easygoing, and facilitated a wonderful day for us that we won’t soon forget : ) If you are so inclined, you can complete this tour in sandals, but wearing water shoes - especially in the pools as they are slick with algae, is probably to your advantage. Make sure you bring some water with you to drink, and definitely check out the pool behind the waterfall!
Our guide, Eduardo was beyond excellent. Extremely knowledgeable about history, flora and fauna of the area.

Our travel guide was Eduardo Bolaños and he was a perfect host. He showed up at our hotel about 5 minutes prior to our pickup time. A large air conditioned van, clean inside and out, with cold drinks available. We received a narrative along the way about the local area and its history. Just as promised, we stopped for a bathroom break, coffee, hot chocolate, and an education on medicines using local plants. Onward to the waterfalls, and WOW, we were not disappointed. Eduardo lead us along the path to an extraordinary site. The pictures on the Viator website do not do it justice. He gave us a quick safety briefing, and then lead a few of us under and behind the falls into a cave/grotto where we experienced the thundering water within a few feet of us. AMAZING! This was followed by a swim in the crystal clear waters, before enjoying a genuine, traditional Mexican meal at a restaurant within a few metres of the river. On top of all this, we were surrounded by the lush tropical beauty of Oaxaca. The only regret was not bringing more cash with us to buy coffee and other treats to take home. BTW, they do accept credit cards. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.
Had a great day with Fabian as our guide. The mountains the falls everything was beautiful. Had a very delicious traditional lunch and had a lesson in making tortillas. Can’t wait to go again.
