We rijden ongeveer 30 minuten. Onze eerste stop is het Huis van de Maagd Maria. Het huis van de Maagd Maria bevindt zich in het Aladaggebergte, op 5 mijl afstand van Efeze. Op het derde Oecumenisch Concilie in 431 n.Chr. In Efeze, werd beweerd dat Maria in Sint-Jakob in Efeze met Sint Johannes naar Efeze kwam en daar tot haar dood in 48 na Christus woonde. Na de ontdekking van het huis verklaarde de aartsbisschop van Izmir daar als een bedevaartsoord in 1892. Op 26 juli 1967 bezocht paus Paulus VI deze plaats en bad daar
Doorgaan naar onze tour met onze tweede stop Ephesus Ancient City. We gaan een bezoek brengen aan een van de hoogtepunten in Turkije, Ephesus, een van de 12 steden van Ionian League (een oud Grieks district aan de westkust van Klein-Azië) ligt in de buurt van Izmir. Als havenstad was het een belangrijk vertrekpunt voor handelsroutes naar Klein-Azië. Loop door de geschiedenis langs marmeren straatjes met prachtige openbare gebouwen, waaronder de Thermen van Scholastica, de Bibliotheek van Celsus; het werd gebouwd in het begin van de 2e eeuw na Christus door Gaius Julius Aquila om een gedenkteken te zijn voor zijn vader Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, de proconsul van de provincie Azië. , de Tempel van Hadrianus en The Grand Theatre zijn twee van de meest indrukwekkende gebouwen in Ephesus. Groot theater werd gebouwd in de 3e eeuw voor Christus en het werd later uitgebreid tot 24.000 toeschouwers door de Romeinen in de 1e eeuw na Christus.
Terrashuizen (inbegrepen in 2 opties. Privé met Terrashuizen en Groepen met Terrashuizen. Terrashuizen zijn niet inbegrepen in de opties zonder Terrashuizen) en bevinden zich aan de rand van de berg Pion. Er zijn 6 wooneenheden die zijn gebouwd op drie kunstmatige terrassen. Deze huizen werden bewoond door rijke burgers van Efeze. Deze huizen waren zeer chique gedecoreerd met muurfresco's en vloermozaïeken. Er zijn veel stappen om van beneden naar boven te stijgen. Niet aanbevolen voor mensen met loopproblemen en acrofobie (hoogtevrees).

The tour was interesting but we didn't get off to a very good start as I had the tour leaving at 8:00 and it didn't leave until 9:00. Viator claimed I received an email even though I did not. At the end of our tour our guide took us to shops (rugs, purses) that we felt were inappropriate. Almost like she was going to get a kick back if we bought something.

The entire tour was incredible- beginning to end. Our guide Fusun was friendly, informative, and great with everyone in our party from 6 yr old to adults. The van was clean, comfortable, and modern. Our driver was also very good. Loved seeing everything from Ephasus to the Terrace Houses (DO NOT MISS THIS)! And we ended the tour with a lovely farm to table lunch and rug-making demonstration. Highly recommend!!
Ershan our guide was really amazing, informative and entertaining. He is very knowledgeable around the history of the sites and was so kind to share with us his culture and history. We really enjoyed our experience especially since its our first time in Turkiye and we’re only there very briefly. Would definitely recommend him as your guide !

It was a fantastic trip. We had Nahide as our guide. I dont think a better guide exists honestly. She was very informed and is a super sweet lady. She spoke great English. She gave us plenty of time to take photos and explore, explaining everything to us before letting us explore and giving us frequent meet up points. I cannot recommend this enough. Also, they were very easy to find walking off our ship. Didn't even have to try to find them.
Melih was our guide for this tour, and Sergei was our driver - both did an outstanding job, providing us with a safe and entertaining tour. Melih clearly loves his country, and its history - his information was both educational and entertaining. Sergei was a good and safe driver, providing us with smooth transportation. Mere (our guide) was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and interesting along with a great sense of humor. His knowledge of history, archeology, mythology and his love of Turkey was epic. Tour guide was easy to find at cruise terminal, even with 4 big ships arriving at the same time. Ben was our tour guide. Had an amazing experience. Very knowledgeable and informative throughout the day. He gave us paper to write a wish at the Virgin Mary house. We also stopped at a carpet workshop on the way back which we found quite interesting. We did not feel obligated to buy anything. Thanks Ben for a great day and the laughs!

Our guide (Melih), and our driver (Sergei) gave us a comprehensive and interesting tour of Mary’s House and Ephesus - we were super happy with the feel of the tour and the detail of the information that Melih shared with us.
