We had a wonderful time with our guide, the food was delicious & we enjoyed learning the history of the neighborhood. Would highly recommend
From the very first moment, this tour swept us into the soul of Seville — a perfect blend of mouthwatering tapas, fascinating history, and the vibrant nightlife of Triana. Not sure where to start — the tapas were absolutely delicious! The walk itself was short but filled with history, architectural gems, and fascinating facts about Seville and its connection to the Inquisition. Imagine this: the food market was once the headquarters of the Inquisition. Sublime! Our guide, Ana, was wonderful. She took us to three tapas bars, each with a great selection of local dishes that you can only find in Seville. We had done another tapas tour in Barcelona, but this one felt much more authentic. Ana even helped us arrange our monument tickets by contacting Not Just a Tourist, which was a huge help. After the tour, she showed us some great local bars where there’s live flamenco — the perfect ending to a beautiful night in Seville! Just make sure you’re ready for a late night — the flamenco parties often start quite late, sometimes after 1 a.m.
This was doomed from the start. I showed up expecting a group and it was just me. The guide didn’t know where to find the designated locations and didn’t talk about food. When we sat at the first place he started talking about Spanish words for fu@&$ing and feeling horny. He lectured me on the way things are in the United States and then called me disabled and implied I would not be able to stand for a tapa at a location despite me walking to other locations with him. It was an unpleasant experience and despite reaching out directly to the company, I did not receive a response of any kind nor an offer of at least a partial refund.
Dear Jaime, I am very sorry to read that you did not enjoy this tour and felt so uncomfortable. I am even more sorry that you did not receive a response from us. As mentioned by email I did not see your email till I saw this review just now and by chance as Tripadvisor does not notify us which is very unfortunate. My sincere apologies for the silence! As explained in the email, your guide has done many tours and I am not sure what the exact issue on this day was. This is the first time ever in 15 years that we receive such a feedback. I had a talk with him and he mentioned that he noticed that from the beginning you were very quiet and seemed not to be interested or enjoying yourself. He tried to adapt and make the tour more interesting and engage you in conversations but there was no reaction from you. Also, about the topic you mentioned and as explained in my email- in Spanish we have different words for the same concept and it is VERY common that we talk about Spanish from Spain and its differences to Latin American Spanish. The example he gave you is the funniest example we all use and it usually makes everybody laugh. So it was meant as a nice anecdote rather than lack of respect and I am sorry it came across to you differently. I can imagine the cultural difference made a role there and it was misinterpreted by you. Also, he mentioned that you seemed a bit tired while walking and standing. So he asked if you wanted to rather sit instead of having your tapa standing. I am sorry the tour was not enjoyable for you and I hope we could make up for that when you were still here. On the other hand, I am very glad you enjoyed the rest of your tours in Spain and Morocco with us. I wish you many nice experiences around the world.
Awesome little tapas tour to start our trip! Guille was an awesome guide who had heritage to Triana and family still living there. Very local experience and small group. We had 2 other people with our 2 person group and enjoyed the intimate conversation of everyone’s lives amongst the tapas and drinks. Great tour and a very enjoyable evening in Triana. Thank you GUILLE!!!
Awesome tour of tapas in Triana neighborhood. We visited three spots and had a great time at all of them. Guille was full of details and history about Triana as we walked to each new place. Thank you Guille!
Guille, a Seville native, was a knowledgable and obliging guide to the food scene in Triana, a neighborhood across the river from the city's tourist-clogged historic center. He tailored the tour once we got to know each other a little, and since I'm not a picky eater, he steered us toward some deeper-cut recommendations. I'm sure he could—and gladly would—accomodate any palate or question.
Guille was an exceptional host who comes from a family that has lived in Triana. He has great knowledge of the food and takes you to places that have been part of neighborhood for a generation. He answers all of your questions about the food relative to Seville and Triana and was able to provide a nice history of some of the restaurants over time.
We loved our guide Guille. He was smart, informative and very personable. Everyone should ask for Guille! We think, however, that the tour was quite expensive for the amount of food and drink provided. We actually returned to one of the venues the day after our tour, ordered a couple of the same items … and we were shocked at how much more substantial they were. So much more food for a lower price. It gives us pause. We want to support businesses and people like Guille, who did all the legwork, but we would like it to be a fair deal. I highly recommend Guille … but do the math on the tour. 6 tapas and a large cheese plate and beverages at 3 places for 4 persons for $125 ish, each.
Costanza made the night really fun. She’s charming and witty — and very knowledgeable about Sevilla generally and Triana and its tapas bars in particular. She knows the people working in the bars and ensures you’ll be treated like a local. Do yourself a favor and let Costanza, who’s also a flamenco dancer, share her contagious enthusiasm about the historic city of Sevilla.
This was an unexpected gem of a tour to do! Our guide Costanza was knowledgeable, very kind and had a great sense of humour. We learned about the history of the area and sampled some amazing local tapas. We went to places that we would not have found without our guide!
