Uw tour omvat een bezoek aan de kustgemeenschap van St. Martins. Stap terug in de tijd en ervaar de sereniteit van dit gebied met zijn kade, vissersboten en opgestapelde kreeftenvallen. Met de oceaan als achtergrond maak je memorabele foto's van vele interessante bezienswaardigheden, waaronder vuurtorens en twee overdekte bruggen. Als het tij laag genoeg is, bezoek dan de uit de golven gehouwen zeegrotten. Leer meer over de houten scheepsbouwindustrie van deze kleine gemeenschap en zie enkele van de hoogste getijden ter wereld tijdens je bezoek. Je bezoekt ook de beroemde Reversing Falls Rapids waar de enorme getijden van de Bay of Fundy de machtige Saint John River forceren. Voordat we terugkeren naar het cruiseschip, stoppen we en verkennen we de unieke Old City Market in het hart van Saint John en leren we waarom de lokale bevolking hier sinds 1876 graag verse producten koopt. Gary, our guide and Tom, our driver were excellent! Gary was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge of St. John's and Fundy Coast history as well as peoples of the past and present. The Reversing Falls Rapids was fascinating, the Caves and beach near St. Martins was wonderful (as was the seafood chowder), and Gary interjected many fun questions for us that he eventually answered, making it both an exciting and enthralling tour. We enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to anyone coming off a cruise or travelling to the area; well worth your time and money.
Seeing the Reversing Falls Rapids was an awesome sight. We had a wonderful and humorous tour guide who made the trip worth the cost.
Penny was great but we didn’t have as much time as we thought we’d have at places. Leaving very little time for exploring or visiting gift shops. Also we had bus issues that stopped us as well. The AC wouldn’t allow the bus to run for a large part of the trip so we had to ride in a very stuffy van. Then the van door wouldn’t open at our last stop.
Overall our guide was excellent. An interesting phenomena as we witness the river flowing first in one direction and then the other direction. Our lunch at the caves was good but pricey.
Very nice tour operator and staff, they were wonderful. However, the tour would have been a lot better if it only went to St Martin's Sea Caves and Reversing Rapids. 1 hour was definitely not enough time to get lunch and explore the sea cave, and time was spent at other stops (eg Irving Park, the Tower under construction) which was unnecessary. For the tower, it would have been better to tell the history of that site while driving as there was nothing to see and we didn't get out of the bus since it was under construction. The Sea Caves are a UNESCO site, spend more time there. By the time we bought lunch (which was delicious), we had to get back on the bus and leave. A nice tour, but it could be much better if not focus was on the quality vs the quantity. I did appreciate the tour operators. The bus was okay but the seats could have been cleaner (eg use a fabric brush to remove hair).
We pre- booked the Fundy Coast to Fundy Shore Tour for September 28, 2023. On the day of the tour, we were told that the bus was running about 20 min. late. After a while, the Freedom Tour representative confessed that the bus was broken down, and there would be no tour that day. OK, things happen. However, no refund has been returned to our credit card after 3 months. We are currently in discussions with the credit card company for a credit. However, we have been told that Freedom tours is denying the tour was cancelled. It is now January and we have yet to see the credit for $178 USD. If you like being cheated this tour is for you. The last min. cancellation ruined our one day in port and cost us $178USD. We now have the ongoing headache of arguing with the credit card company. Do yourself a favorite and book your tours with another company.
It was a wonderful trip. The driver was courteous and told us a lot about the area. We got to all our destinations on time and back to the ship on time. I would definitely book again. The caves were beautiful and so was the scenery.
Fundy cove was impressive… Long drives, not enough bathroom facilities… spent half of our time in line and not seeing the sites.
The guide was delightful and informative. The time was too short to take in the places and bus too crowded to see.
Our guide provided much insight since he was from St John and knew the city very well. Enjoyed St Martin and the experience of the restaurant and beach!
