De archeologische site van Umm Qais biedt bezoekers de kans om een rijk wandtapijt van de geschiedenis te verkennen. Romeinse theaters : De ruïnes van twee Romeinse theaters vormen een belangrijk hoogtepunt. Het belangrijkste (westerse) theater is imposant, met zijn zwarte basaltstenen constructie. Colonnaded Street : Een goed bewaard gebleven colonnaded straat, de Decumanus Maximus, toont de Romeinse stedenbouw van de stad. Basilica Terrace : Dit gebied bevat de overblijfselen van een Byzantijnse kerk gebouwd over een eerder Romeins mausoleum, waaruit de lange geschiedenis van religieuze en culturele verandering van de site blijkt. Umm Qais Museum : Gelegen in een van de gerestaureerde Ottomaanse huizen, toont het museum artefacten uit de Hellenistische, Romeinse en Islamitische periode. Panoramisch uitzicht : Een van de meest fascinerende aspecten van een bezoek aan Umm Qais is het adembenemende landschap. Vanaf de heuveltop kunt u het Meer van Galilea, de rivier de Yarmouk en de door Israël bezette Golanhoogten zien.
Het kasteel ligt op een heuveltop boven de stad Ajloun in het noordwesten van Jordanië, ongeveer 75 km ten noordwesten van Amman. Een versterkte structuur : Het oorspronkelijke ontwerp van het kasteel omvatte vier hoofdtorens en een slotgracht. Latere uitbreidingen voegden meer torens en een poort met een ophaalbrug toe. U kunt de verschillende kamers, gangen en trappen verkennen die deel uitmaken van het labyrintische interieur. Het Museum : Een klein museum in het kasteel herbergt een verzameling van artefacten uit verschillende perioden van zijn geschiedenis. Jerash is een enorme archeologische site die uren nodig heeft om te verkennen, met hoofdwegen die belangrijke attracties met elkaar verbinden. Boog van Hadrianus : Een grote poort met drie bogen ter ere van keizer Hadrianus. Hippodrome : Een enorme Romeinse arena voor wagenrennen, met plaats voor 15.000, soms gebruikt voor reenactments. Oval Plaza : Een iconisch ovaal forum omringd door Ionische zuilen, gebruikt als markt. Cardo Maximus : De belangrijkste 800 - meter colonnaded straat met originele bestrating en wagen wielsporen. South Theater : Een goed bewaard gebleven Romeins theater met plaats voor 3000 +, nog steeds gebruikt voor voorstellingen en festivals. Tempel van Artemis : Gewijd aan de beschermgodin van de stad, met indrukwekkende Korinthische zuilen. Tempel van Zeus : Een tempel op een heuveltop met een panoramisch uitzicht op de ruïnes en de stad. The three sites are most impressive, there is no need to mention that. Our driver Moe was really helpful all day, smiling at our little delays. What really helped us where his many personal and inside-stories about Jordan and the "normal" things about the Jordan people. Moe shared these during the transits from one place to another, thus filling each minute with an authentic local experience. Thank you!

We had an absolutely amazing day tour to Umm Qais, Jerash, and Ajloun Castle, and a huge part of that experience was thanks to our driver, Shadi. From start to finish, he was professional, friendly, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. Shadi made the journey smooth and comfortable, shared interesting insights along the way, and always made sure we were relaxed and enjoying ourselves. Saed contacted us prior to our excursion to give us details about pick up etc. He picked us up right on time and drove us to Um Qais first given the times. It was so much more than I expected and a really long walk through old ancient ruins. We could have arranged a guide (would need cash for) but we opted to do it ourselves. Saed always said "this should take around x minutes/hours to visit and meet me here when you are done" He also was clear that we could take more time if needed, but we wanted to be on time to make sure that we could visit all 3 sites, which didn't disappoint. It was quite windy for our visits but the sun warmed us and it felt like Scottish summer! We next visited Ajloun castle, a crusader's castle, that had significance for christians and muslims. From both sites, you could see the Syrian border, which was picturesque. Next, we visited Jerash and had opted for the guide, which was worth it! This reminded me of our visit to Ephesus, with still so much to find but so much to see that is still standing. Jerash was our favourite site, and I highly recommend seeing it! Lunch was fine, it had a great view from the terrace.

We had a great day with our driver Eltif, he was very patient and caring, very good driver. We had a delay because of our fault because we left our hotel late and we were slow in some stops. It wasnt his fault at all

I highly recommend the driver Adnan , He came to pick us up at the hotel on time , following an error booking a visit on our part , he knew how to be professional and find a solution quickly. Its vehicle and clean and offers free wifi. His conduct is professional. Adnan is a very nice person who explains a lot about architecture and remains. I sincerely recommend this driver, he speaks English very well.

Take a look at ancient civilization buildings. Although the Gerash site is slightly depleted due to the ancient times, it is still impressive to clearly feel the scale and sophisticated technique of ancient Roman architecture.

Despite the heavy winter showers, we still managed to see all of the listed sites. We were picked up at 7:30am to avoid some of the Amman traffic. We got to Umm Qais in around 2 hours, then to Ajloun castle, before heading for lunch. It was 12 JOD for the buffet and 15 JOD for the bbq meal option. We later arrived at the Jerash ruins, which was best with a tour guide as the area is quite big. The whole day was well organised, and was still very good despite the showery weather. Our driver, Abdallah, was great throughout the day, and was very safe driving.
