Volledige dagtour in Tolantongo vanuit San Miguel Allende

De dag begint met een lekker ontbijtbuffet om u voor te bereiden op de benodigde energie voor de activiteiten van de dag. Daarna zijn het de hele dag wateractiviteiten. We beginnen de tour met de warme poelen die op de berghelling zijn geëtst, en gaan later verder naar de turquoise thermale rivier voor een ontspannende lunch langs de oevers. Na de lunch springen we in het warme water van de rivier voordat we overgaan naar de glorieuze watervallen en grotten. Voordat we de grotten betreden, bewonderen we het uitzicht op de watervallen die de natuurlijke grotten bewaken die we gaan verkennen. In de grotten zullen we onze lampen gebruiken om door het warme water te lopen dat van binnenuit naar buiten komt, de watervallen in het binnenland te verkennen en het oorsprongspunt te observeren van het water dat Tolantongo zijn naam geeft. Tolantongo, wat 'plaats van warm bewegend water' betekent, zal je een unieke ervaring in Mexico blijken te geven. (Het verkennen van rivieren en grotten is afhankelijk van goed weer in de dagen voorafgaand aan een optimale ervaring).

Bij vertrek rijden we naar Tequisquiapan (90 minuten). Vegetarische vriendelijke opties met beperkte veganistische opties. Het ontbijt is voor onze rekening. Na het ontbijt (40 minuten) gaan we verder naar Tolantongo (120 minuten).
Rust bij het zwembad (2 uur): Begin uw ervaring een tijdje ontspannen in de "pocitos"; natuurlijk warme thermale baden die verbluffende uitzichten bieden die lichaam en geest kalmeren en zuiveren - perfect voor 'de gram'. Er is een zip-lining-optie om over te gaan naar de rivier, niet inbegrepen (250 Mexicaanse pesos). Lunch (30 minuten): Picknick op tafel bij de rivier (als het weer het toelaat). Bestel de lunch vooraf bij het plaatselijke restaurant en laat deze klaarzetten bij de rivier. Lunch is NIET bij de prijs inbegrepen. Rivierontspanning (2 uur): Vervolgens wordt de turkooiskleurige rivier goed beheerd en is hij van nature warm dankzij de thermale bronnen, een compleet ontspannende ervaring. Grotverkenning (60 min.): Je zult ontzagwekkende watervallen en onverwachte avonturen zien die onze gasten hebben omschreven als 'levensveranderend'. Onze gidsen nemen je mee om de grotten en tunnels hier te verkennen. Geniet van de watervallen die de grotten bedekken en neem een duik in het warme zwembad in de berg. Om 17.30 uur vertrekken we.
Rit op weg naar Huichapan (90 minuten). Rekstop: toilet- en rekpauze. Vervolg de chauffeur naar San Miguel de Allende (120 minuten)

If you’re used to roadtrips the drive isn’t bad at all, you can sleep on the way over lol. It was all so worth it though, after picking up our other guests we had breakfast and headed over to Tolantongo. We felt so relaxed in the little pools we didn’t want to leave but being able to see the caves and waterfalls was so so worth it. This whole experience was awesome, thanks to our guide Israel who is super knowledgeable and very friendly! I highly recommend!
The long car ride is worth the amazing experience. The entire day is planned out so you don’t have to think about anything! Our tour guide Israel [Tenshi] and his driver were amazing and knowledgeable in every aspect of Mexican culture. We learned so much and experienced everything I wanted to get out of this trip and more!
This was an amazing adventure to Tolantongo. It was a long day from San Miguel but totally worth it. We had a great tour guide who took us to Tolantongo. We had plenty of time in the baths. He also procured lunch for a riverside picnic. He took us to the caves and we had time to relax in the river. This is a must do when in the area.

We had a wonderful time. We were so surprised by the grandeur of the river valley and the experience of exploring and swimming in the caves. The mountain side pools were relaxing and gorgeous. A must do experience!
If at all possible, request Diego when you book this excursion. He was right on time, very friendly and quite willing to share his knowledge of the surrounding area and culture. He explained everything we would experience and was there to lend a hand where necessary. Make sure you stand under the falls in the cave for a natural massage.
Grutas Tolantongo itself is a breathtaking destination with stunning turquoise waters, relaxing thermal pools, caves, and beautiful mountain views. Diego helped us make the most of our time there and provided a great tour with wonderful conversation. He made the long drive enjoyable, shared interesting information along the way, and ensured everyone felt comfortable and safe. Every moment was absolutely magical. Highly recommend - you will enjoy every moment!
Diego, our tour guide, truly exceeded our expectations. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but he was also a pleasant and wonderful companion throughout the journey. As well-traveled guests with experience working with many guides, we can confidently say that Diego stands above the rest, he is truly best in class. Thank you for allowing me to join the existing tour at the last minute, and to the family that agreed to have me on their tour. It was excellent to see Tolantongo before the Easter crush. An easy and enjoyable full day excursion from San Miguel de Allende with door-to-door transport. Diego was the guide, and he demonstrated excellent driving skills, smiling connection with all the local providers, knowledgeable information, and smooth provision of all the things - snacks/drinks/chairs/backpacks/timing … all the things seen and unseen that make a tour enjoyable and relaxed because someone is working hard behind the scenes. This is a very professional tour experience, but one that feels personal and bespoke. I enjoyed all elements of the destination, and although heavily touristed (for obvious reasons because it is so good!!) the natural beauty and existence of really hot thermal springs was so good to visit. The full moon following us home topped off the perfect day.
