Spreek af met uw gids in de lobby van uw hotel. Rijd naar het centrum van de stad om enkele belangrijke hoogtepunten van Dushanbe te bezoeken. Begin een korte wandeling in amd rond Rudaki Park. Rudaki Park: Het mooiste park van Dushanbe ligt naast het Nationaal Museum. De met bomen omzoomde paden hebben alles van het Paleis van Naties (waar de president werkt), Somoni monument, nationale bibliotheek, Rudaki en andere standbeelden tot excentrieke dingen zoals de op een na hoogste vlaggenmast ter wereld.
Nationaal museum: Het museum heeft verschillende interessante collecties waar u van zult genieten: enkele fresco's uit het oude Panjakent en de gehele bovenste verdieping met unieke werken van Tadzjiekse kunstenaars
Paleis van Navruz: Een koninklijk paleis dat je bijna nergens anders ziet, met ongelooflijke decoratie binnenin. 4 verschillende zalen.
Mehrgon Bazaar: Een grote bazaar in het noorden van de stad waar je van alles kunt kopen, van in blokjes gesneden verse wortels tot gevulde gedroogde dadels
Independence Square: een nieuw park met een toren van 124 meter. Vanaf de top van de toren kunt u de hele stad Dushanbe en haar omgeving zien. Het park en de toren werden gebouwd ter ere van de 32e verjaardag van de onafhankelijkheid van Tadzjikistan. Het wordt momenteel beschouwd als de hoogste toren in Dushanbe.
Dushanbe nieuwe Centrale moskee, de grootste in Centraal-Azië.
Na een uitstapje naar het Hissar fort, een museum en een madrasah. Vertrek buiten de stad (26 km) naar de overblijfselen van het Hissar fort uit de 18e eeuw. Bezoek twee lokale madrasahs en een mausoleum. Terug naar Dushanbe. Einde tour.

The tour promised us an English speaking guide. He spoke very limited English. The driver actually spoke better English than the young man who was our guide. He was clearly very inexperienced as a guide and didn’t tell us any history of the places we were seeing or Tajikistan in general. This was our first day in Dushanbe and we expected an overview with some explanations of what we were seeing along with a bit of history about the country. The guide did his job by staying with us and walking us around, but without any conversation. He was polite, pleasant and professional, just very inexperienced. We saw other private tours with their guides who were conversing and giving information to their clients. If we asked questions our guide and driver tried to answer them. This is why I gave the tour a low review. For the cost of the tour and length of the tour we should have had a more experienced guide for the day. I would not recommend this tour without a guide who could be more of a leader and tell us more.

Our guide (Sher) and the driver (Natali) were both excellent over the two days they cared for us in Dushanbe and Norak Dam. As an older couple, they were understanding of our capabilities and needs. Sher was able to tell us many interesting things about Dushanbe & Tajikistan, and answer our questions. He was very good indeed. The car and driver were great. Air conditioned, most comfortable and safe driving. Both men were hospitable and most pleasant to be with. Thoroughly enjoyed their company. We felt safe and well cared for.
