Stap in een serene en schilderachtige wereld op onze punting boot dagtocht door Kerala's backwaters. Je glijdt over kalme waterwegen, bezoekt charmante dorpjes waar je getuige kunt zijn van lokale vrouwen die vakkundig dingen maken van kokosbladeren. Deze dorpen bieden een kijkje in het ongehaaste en eenvoudige leven van Kerala's mensen. Terwijl u geniet van het adembenemende natuurschoon, komt u een verscheidenheid aan vogels en weelderig groen tegen. Je krijgt ook de kans om te zien hoe kokosnootschillen worden omgezet in nuttige touwen en matten, een vaardigheid die al generaties lang wordt doorgegeven. Deze reis is een kans om verbinding te maken met het hart en de ziel van de backwaters van Kerala, en de rijke cultuur en tradities te waarderen, terwijl u geniet van de schoonheid van de natuur en de warmte van de mensen. Ontmoetingspunt en rondleiding Inleiding : Gelieve te verzamelen bij Wilson Tours om 8u30. We geven een kort overzicht van de tour.
Vertrek naar Vaikom : Om 8:30 uur begint u aan een rit van een uur in een auto met airconditioning naar het afgelegen dorpje Vaikom. Backwater Village ervaring : Bij het bereiken van het dorp, genieten van een twee en een half uur durende cruise op een niet-gemotoriseerde punting woonboot. Geniet van een heerlijke vegetarische lunch geserveerd in het dorp op bananenbladeren. Een Engels sprekende Gids zal uitgebreid ingaan op dorpsactiviteiten, waarbij touw maken van kokosvezel, matten weven en verschillende kruidenplanten worden getoond. Kanoboottocht en theesessie : Na de lunch kunt u een kanoboottocht van een uur maken. Ontspan en geniet van een theesessie tijdens de boottocht. Terug naar Cochin : Na de activiteiten rijden we terug naar Cochin. Conclusie van de tour: De tour eindigt om 16.30 uur in Cochin.

Our backwater experience in Kerala was truly unforgettable and offered an authentic glimpse into the local culture and way of life. A special mention to our guide, Ms. Mira, whose warmth, knowledge, and excellent storytelling made the journey even more enriching. She ensured that we felt comfortable throughout and shared fascinating insights about the region. The village activities were a highlight of the trip. Watching Omna Amma demonstrate traditional rope-making and thatch-making was both educational and inspiring. Her skill, dedication, and passion for preserving these age-old crafts left a lasting impression on us. The boatmen were courteous, skilled, and ensured a smooth and enjoyable ride through the serene backwaters. Their hospitality added greatly to the overall experience. The traditional Kerala food served during the visit was delicious, fresh, and full of authentic flavors. It was a wonderful opportunity to savor the local cuisine. We would also like to appreciate our driver for his professionalism, punctuality, and safe driving. His friendly nature and willingness to assist made our travel comfortable and stress-free. We all loved this trip. Exploring narrow backwaters full of birdlife on a smaller boat with an wobderful guide. We stopped to view local craft activities- making rope from coconut fibre and weaving coconut fronts. Then onto a bigger boat to view villagelife watersnakes, and more birds. Very informative, but also very relaxing. Would highly recommend this tour!

It was a really unforgettable experience. Gowri is an amazing guide, I wish her all the best! Very well planned and organised by her and the team. Had two separate boat rides, one on a smaller open canoe (which I prefer) which led to smaller waterways, and a bigger houseboat down the main stream. Beautiful!! Not a single other boat in sight, way better than anything at alleppey, this really feels like a hidden gem

Very nice experience; Meera was a super helpful and kind guide. We first took an excursion on an open boat to visit the smaller canals, after which we navigated on a larger covered boat in a bigger canal.

The experience from pick up point to drop off was without hassle. Everybody was friendly. The boat ride was peaceful and Gauri the guide was very friendly.

Excellent tour. Travelled the backwaters in peace and saw some basket-weaving. Gowri was a knowledgeable guide who spoke about the important/necessary things for the tour. The lunch was great as well. Fully recommended!🙂
