Neem de tijd weg van de bruisende kust en ontdek een natuurlijke bezienswaardigheid die op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat tijdens een dagtocht naar Nationaal Park Plitvicemeren. Verken de meren, weilanden en prehistorische grotten van het park, begeleid door je gids en vele interessante verhalen. Reis de afstand gemakkelijk af met een voertuig met airconditioning en ontspan tijdens een retourtransfer vanuit Split.

Plitvice staat bekend als een natuurlijk fenomeen omdat ze blijven veranderen door sedimentatie van calciumcarbonaat en speciale soorten algen en mos, tufsteen of travertijn creëren die zijn afgezet en nog steeds worden afgezet om de natuurlijke dammen te vormen die de meren scheiden. Aangezien het proces vandaag de dag aan de gang is, worden er, net zoals altijd, nieuwe travertijnbarrières, gordijnen, stalactieten, kanalen en watervallen gebouwd terwijl de bestaande blijven veranderen. Het maakt dus niet uit of je de meren al eerder hebt bezocht, ze zien er nu waarschijnlijk anders uit, dus je kunt ze nog een keer bezoeken en je nooit vervelen. Naast de meren zijn er enkele interessante grotten waarin overblijfselen van prehistorische nederzettingen zijn gevonden.

- De tour bevat prox. 5 km wandelen op oneffen oppervlakken - draag comfortabele wandelschoenen (we bezoeken de hoogtepunten van beide, de Lower Lakes en de Upper Lakes).
- Kinderen moeten worden begeleid door een volwassene.
- Niet aanbevolen voor deelnemers met loopproblemen
- Afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden kunnen sommige delen van het park beperkt zijn
- Hier zijn enkele items die je nodig hebt om je tijd op de excursie het beste van allemaal te maken: gesloten comfortabele schoenen (sneakers), sportkleding, in het geval van een regenjas of een paraplu. Na de zomer raden we aan om ook een warme trui of jas mee te nemen.

Luca was fantastic. Amazing historical knowledge of the city and country delivered in a professional manner and the right amount of content. He spent the right amount of time during the hike at various spots and kept moving the group along at the right place great coordination and ability to manage a lot of people in a friendly manner.
Plitvice Lakes National Park was a welcomed excursion from our Croatia vacation focused on Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik. Luka was a top-notch guide, friendly, informative and enthusiastic and he made the trip extra special! Inside the park, it was cool and clean, and I will never forget the gorgeous color of blue in the lakes! Worth the side trip even if all the amenities in the park were closed due to a cybersecurity incident.
A beautiful National Park. The colors of the lakes were brilliant. Saw a water snake, which I was looking for, so happy about that. Our tour guide Luka gave a great 20+ minute history of Croatia during the ride up, among his other informational facts. A fun day all around.

It’s a long bus ride but worth it. The lake is spectacular. The walk is broken up into a mix of train, walk, boat and then walk, which makes is achievable. The photos of this place don’t do it justice.
This was a great tour with our guide, Lovro. He was entertaining, full of countless jokes throughout the day. My only complaint is the number of people on this tour, which I wasn’t expecting. I get it, let’s pack them in, but it was just too many. There’s lots of shade during the 3.5 mile walk, but expect to sweat. I noticed some folks came wearing bathing suits - you cannot get in the water. Although there’s a stop at a gas station, I recommend getting snacks the night before and bringing them with you. The gas station is overly crowded. There are plenty of opportunities to use the restroom so don’t fret about that.
This park exceeded my expectations. Sanya was organized, funny, & made individual itineraries that fit with everyone’s abilities. I will recommend to anyone i know visiting Croatia. Was 15,000+ step day, but it was mostly flat or downhill. The drive from Split is intimidating, but I am so happy we did it.
Sanja was an amazing guide- she shared interesting information, was very friendly, gave us clear and good instructions, and kept a large, diverse group of us together for hours and miles and smiles.
We had great experience with the tour, especially, Sanja the tour guide - she's great and ver knowledgeable helping us learning a lot about the park and that enhanced our experience there.
