Van Salta: dagtour naar Cachi en Los Cardones National Park

We laten de vruchtbare Lerma-vallei achter ons, beklimmen de Quebrada de Escoipe en vervolgen onze weg langs de imposante Cuesta del Obispo en Valle Encantado, omgeven door bergen. Na een bezoek aan La Piedra del Molino (3.400 meter boven zeeniveau) passeert u het Los Cardones National Park. Het kleine en magische stadje Cachi, gelegen aan de voet van de met sneeuw bedekte berg met dezelfde naam (6.320 meter boven zeeniveau), wordt gekenmerkt door zijn gevels in koloniale stijl, met herenhuizen aan de rand van smalle, geplaveide straatjes . We bezoeken de Lerma-vallei, El Carril, El Maray, Calchaquí-vallei, Quebrada de Escoipe, Cuesta del Obispo, Valle Encantado, La Piedra del Molino (3348 meter boven zeeniveau), Recta del Tin Tin (11 kilometer lange weg aangelegd door de Inca's), Los Cardones National Park (enige Nationaal Park op grote hoogte in Argentinië), Waarneming van de Nevados de Cachi (6.380 meter boven zeeniveau) en 2 vrije uren in de stad Cachi.

We verlaten Salta via de Lerma-vallei richting het zuiden van de provincie totdat we de stad El Carril bereiken, waar we westwaarts gaan en richting de Quebrada del Escoipe en de eerste droomlandschappen gaan. We hebben onderweg technische stops zodat passagiers naar het toilet kunnen gaan of een snack kunnen kopen.

Bezoek kruideniers en passeer de stad waar paprika's langs de kant van de weg worden gedroogd.
We arriveren om 12.00 uur in de koloniale stad Cachi en hebben 2 uur de tijd om te lunchen en deze unieke stad in het noorden van Argentinië te verkennen. De geplaveide straatjes met zijn lemen en geplaveide huizen laten je getuige zijn van een plek die in de tijd is achtergelaten en die zijn oorspronkelijke essentie heeft behouden. Tijdens deze 2 vrije uren kunt u deze 10 blokken bij 10 blokken verkennen die de stad te bieden heeft en de gastronomische variatie uit de regio uitproberen. Daarna ontmoeten we de gids opnieuw om aan de terugkeer naar Salta te beginnen.
Voordat we in de stad Salta aankomen, maken we een technische stop in Chicoana of El Carril om een snack te kopen of naar het toilet te gaan.

The scenery was unbelievable and the guide was outstanding. Fernando made the day with his knowledge of the area and its history and spoke fluent English. Highly recommend

The places are great, but the experience we had regarding the pickup and return is that they left us on the highway, even though there was a road parallel to the hotel, keep in mind that I have two children. On the other hand, the driver was going at a fast speed so you couldn't appreciate the tour with the scenery. Being on vacation I think you want to be more unstructured with the schedules, these were strict and on top of that we returned an hour and a half earlier than stipulated. The state of being on vacation is to relax and not to have more stress. Both issues hindered the full enjoyment of the excursion.

A very nice experience, with many stops, tastings of typical cheeses and cold cuts, and I recommend Fabio as a guide; he is the best!!!!!

They sold a ride to 05/12/25 without a vacancy. I was charged twice and the values were not returned. A lot of difficulty and push game. But they don't solve.
Excellent trip: the stops are memorable and the Bishop’s hill is a very feat road (pity there was mist in the first leg) but this gave us a unique panorama; the cardon park was a sight and I fell in love with Cachi where I will surely return.

Too bad we only made 4 photo stops in these dream settings... far too few! I had to take pictures of the Van. 2 toilet stops one meal stop and one hour in Cachi. Correct guide but unseemly and warm. Eban our driver really drove very well for our safety on roads or roads high and very winding mountain.

Had the good fortune of getting Vanessa as a tour guide and her driver (whose name I forgot, sorry! But he was wonderful!) She was really knowledgeable and personable, it elevated the day. And of course, the scenery was delightful; we also stopped at a roadside stand for a quick bit in case you wanted to buy local spices.

Beautiful trip. Incredible landscape. The impressive cacti (Cardones). The driver and guide (Mr. Antonio) made us spend a humorous day to which the beauty of the landscape was added. Caqui Town: picturesque and with friendly and very good people! I recommend.
