Dit is veel meer dan een sandboardavontuur. Vanaf het moment dat u in ons voertuig stapt, wordt u begeleid door enthousiaste lokale gidsen die graag de geschiedenis, cultuur en natuurlijke schoonheid van Nicaragua met u delen. Voordat je de Cerro Negro-vulkaan afdaalt, zal ons team je stap voor stap leren hoe je het board moet gebruiken, je snelheid moet beheersen en veilig en vol vertrouwen van de ervaring kunt genieten, zelfs als het je eerste keer is. Na dit avontuur vervolgen we onze verkenningstocht door de historische stad León, de thuisbasis van een van Nicaragua's meest iconische monumenten: de majestueuze kathedraal van León, die door UNESCO is uitgeroepen tot werelderfgoed. De combinatie van avontuur, geschiedenis, lokale kennis en persoonlijke aandacht maakt deze tour een unieke manier om León te ontdekken door de ogen van degenen die dit land met trots hun thuis noemen. Eenmaal in het voertuig rijden we richting León, passeren we het uitkijkpunt Piedra Azules, waar we een prachtig uitzicht hebben op een van de meest actieve vulkanen in Nicaragua, de Momotombo-vulkaan en het uitzicht op het indrukwekkende meer Xolotlán. Daarna passeren we via Nagarote, bekend als de stad Quesillo, een soort Bocadillo populair in Nicaragua en we gaan verder richting León.
Aangekomen in León gaan we richting het centrale plein waar we de indrukwekkende en gigantische kathedraal van León zullen zien, de grootste in Midden-Amerika. We zullen naar binnen kunnen gaan en zien hoe mooi het van binnen is, en dan gaan we naar het dak . van de kerk en we zullen genieten van het ongelooflijke uitzicht over de hele stad León, daarna zullen we door het centrale park lopen en iets leren over de cultuur van de inwoners van het gebied.
Na een beetje geschiedenis komt de adrenaline, in een 4x4-truck nemen we de weg naar de jongste, meest indrukwekkende en actieve vulkaan, El Cerro Negro, waar we de uitdaging zullen hebben om naar de top te klimmen, degenen onder ons die van wandelen houden zullen doe het. Geniet met volle teugen van dit avontuur, we nemen onze boards mee en laten zien waar we van gemaakt zijn. Eenmaal daarboven zullen we onze speciale pakken en brillen aantrekken en leren de snelheid te beheersen, het board te hanteren en te remmen. Het beste is onderweg, eenmaal vol moed en vertrouwen glijden we naar beneden alsof er geen morgen bestaat en genieten we van elke seconde van de geweldige ervaring die we beleven tijdens een van de meest gewilde tours ter wereld. Zodra de missie is voltooid met jouw kampioensglimlach, eten we fruit om onszelf te hydrateren en keren we terug naar ons leven met de beste en onvergetelijke sandboard-ervaring op een vulkaan.

Excellent tour! Both Martin, our driver, and Junior, our guide, made this adventure fun and engaging for the teenagers while keeping it stress-free for those of us who are a little less enthusiastic about adrenaline-filled experiences. Getting there is an adventure in itself, with rough roads, limited signage, and plenty of off-roading. Martin handled it all with skill and confidence, making us feel safe the entire time. Junior is passionate about Nicaragua and an outstanding guide. He shared fascinating information about the volcanoes, answered every question the kids had, and brought the history and landscape to life. It was a seamless + awesome experience from my pickup in Managua to Leon by Anthony, to the transfer to Cerro Negro Volcano for hiking up and sandboarding down the volcano. The driver to the volcano site, Martin, was such a gentleman, very kind and funny. The tour guide, Junior, has to be one of the best tour guides ever! I almost gave up on the hike up the volcano but Junior was very supportive and gentle and encouraged me all the way. He stayed with me throughout to make sure I was okay all the way. Great energy and positive vibes from these folks and so obvious they love what they do. Professionals with a human touch!! I definitely recommend booking with this company.

I could not recommend this tour enough! Sliding down the volcano was a once in a lifetime experience, and everyone involved was great. Our driver, Anthony, was excellent, and our guides up the mountain were fantastic. All very communicative and informative, safe, and kind. Having fruits and watching the sunset was great too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time, and all the tour guides were amazing. They made sure to stop so we could take great photos and rest when needed, which we really appreciated. It was definitely a challenging hike, but making it to the top was so worth it! If you’re afraid of heights, the drop right before the descent can feel a bit intimidating—but it’s quick and ends up being really fun. Overall, we had an incredible time and truly enjoyed the whole experience.
Expectations Surpassed. First time in Nicaragua. Had no plans and booked this tour last minute. It was available. Best decision I made. Worth every dollar and not expensive when you factor it took us 10 hours to complete itinerary. More to come. Started with hotel pickup. Tour guide at first was Gilbert who took us to Leon where we had a great tour of UNESCO site. The Catedral is 2nd largest in the Americas. First in central America. Amazing photo opportunities up top. $5USD entrance per person. Do not miss. To a walk around the plaza and then hit the local market. Really clean and I bought Mangoes lol. Had lunch in local restaurant right off the plaza. I had the fried tacos with beef and it was great! Next we met Gustavo who took us with a driver to Cerro Negro (black volcano). This is the highlight. A fair warning: it is about an hour hike up a rock pathway. Please do yourself a favor and pace yourself and rest unless you are in great physical shape. I'm not in the best so took 1.5 hours. Please pay the $5 per board for them to carry it up for you. They weigh 5 kgs or 11 lbs. Carrying up an incline for over an hour is nuts! The sand boarding is a highlight. On the way done be careful as you can flip over. Many do since they lose control. This is a Low to Medium Extreme Sport and they warn you about that before you go in. You sign a waiver that no one is responsible and you are in good enough health to do it. Amazing experience, I hiked over a dozen volcanos. But this one exceeded my expectations. Anthony and chino were great tour guides. Very knowledgeable and made you feel safe. Bucket list ✅️
This experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Our driver Anthony gave us the local tour, he was friendly and knowledgeable about his culture. We explored the town of Leon and its history. Then we gathered with Junior and Martin who took us on an adventure of a lifetime at Cerro Negro. They were so friendly and eager to tell us about the history of the town and the volcanoes nearby. We always felt safe and provided clear guidance and instructions. Cerro Negro is a beautiful place and highly recommended.
