Reisroute

Beautiful nature, and sheep demo was also fun! Long day, but the bus was pretty comfortable. Lunch option in Glendalough is limited (food trucks) or a hotel. We did food trucks since we wanted to see the lake and the monastic ruins. Overall, would recommend!
We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your day with us! Thank you for your kind words, and we hope to see you again on your next visit to Ireland.
It was great, our driver was knowledgeable. The shepherding excursion was fun. The dog is so smart, the sheep are friendly. Good excursion for the cost. Eat at the food trucks not at the hotel. The food was very bland and pricey. It was a nice way to get out of Dublin
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're so pleased you had a great experience and hope you made some unforgettable memories in Ireland.
I booked this trip for three adults and a child. The balance of nature, ruins, and sheepdog was appealing to all of us. When we checked in, the worker told us to go down the street and look for the white bus. There was no white bus. There was a purple bus, but when someone asked the gentleman that got off of it if he was our tour guide, he was confused. But it turned out he was the tour guide. On the drive, the tour guide gave a few facts about what we were going to see, though he rambled a bit and repeated himself. We arrived at the Powerscourt Waterfall (gorgeous!!!) and had an hour to explore and for the kids on the bus to play on the playground. This was great- gorgeous scenery, rocks to scramble, nice walking paths, good playground for kids. We then left and went to Glendlough Monsetary. On the way there, my daughter got motion sick and vomited. We did our best to clean up with the napkins and wipes we had. When we arrived, we let the bus driver know, expecting that he’d have some basic cleaning supplies. It turns out he did not and let the vomit sit on the bus for 2.5 hours until we got back and asked for either him to clean or to give us supplies. As a former teacher who did many field trips and overnights on busses with students, there were ALWAYS paper towels and cleaning supplies on the busses for issues like this. Just before we left, he did go get some paper towels from the visitor center and cleaned up. At this point, the whole bus smelled like vomit (sorry, fellow tourists). We used some hand sanitizing wipes from another passenger to finish cleaning up. On the bus, the tour guide told us we would have 30 minutes to use the bathroom and such and then the tour would begin back at the bus. The tour would be about an hour and then we’d have an additional hour to explore and grab lunch. I immediately took my daughter to the bathroom to wash up. When we got back to the bus, within the 30 minutes, the tour guide was gone. My husband said he saw the tour guide leading a few people up a path minutes earlier. I called the tour operating company to see if they could reach the guide or driver. It turns out, after we’d gone to the bathroom (along with many other people on the bus!), he’d changed the instructions- he was going to do the tour immediately and also changed our departure time from 2pm to 2:30p. We basically spent 20 minutes looking for the tour and then lost an additional 30 minutes of exploring AND the whole tour of the grounds because this guide’s inability to clearly communicate. I wanted to learn about the monastic village without having to google and be on my phone. I really feel like I missed a lot here. We then went to a sheepdog presentation. The three sheep farmers were SO knowledgeable and their dog’s ability was impressive. We learned a lot about sheep farming, herding, and the process. Honestly, this was the highlight of the tour. Overall, I enjoyed WHERE we went, but I am disappointed in this tour. I almost wish we had not taken it, but we really did like the locations.
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed Powerscourt Waterfall and especially the sheepdog experience. We're very sorry, however, for the issues you experienced with the bus, the communication around the Glendalough tour, and the disruption caused by your daughter's illness. We understand how frustrating it must have been to miss part of the guided visit after being given different instructions. We take your comments seriously and would appreciate the opportunity to look into what happened. Please contact us at info@daytours.ie with your booking details so we can investigate further.
This tour was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. From the start, our guide Jonathan made us feel welcome, comfortable, and excited to explore. His passion for the history, culture, and local traditions was infectious, and his stories truly brought each place to life. He was also incredibly funny, keeping us smiling and laughing throughout. A particularly special moment was when Jonathan sang an Irish song about the Easter rising—it added such a heartfelt, authentic touch and made the experience even more unforgettable.( I visited Kilmainham Gohl the day before so it was really deep emotionally when I heard his song) What stood out most was how much he genuinely cared about everyone having a great experience. He was patient, kind, and always happy to answer questions or share insights you wouldn’t find in a guidebook. It felt like being shown around by a friend who loves his home and wanted us to love it too. Thank you for giving us more than just a tour—you gave us lasting memories. We’ll always remember this experience with a smile and can’t recommend it highly enough. If we return, we would choose this tour again without hesitation.
