Ontsnap aan Boekarest voor een volledige dag in het hart van Transsylvanië — een reis door de Karpaten naar drie van de meest onvergetelijke plaatsen van Roemenië, met een gepassioneerde lokale Gids. Je dag begint bij het Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti, het grootste bruine berenreservaat ter wereld. Het beslaat 69 hectare bos en is de thuisbasis van meer dan 90 beren gered uit gevangenschap, die nu vrij leven. Het is een ontroerende ervaring en het meest ethische heiligdom in zijn soort. Ontdek vervolgens het legendarische kasteel van Bran — wereldwijd bekend als Dracula's Castle. Dit 14e-eeuwse fort ligt dramatisch op een klif en is doordrenkt van middeleeuwse geschiedenis en de mythe van Bram Stokers beroemde vampier. De dag eindigt in Brasov, een prachtig bewaard gebleven middeleeuwse Saksische stad. Dwaal door de geplaveide oude stad, bekijk het Raadsplein en de Zwarte Kerk en geniet van vrije tijd voor de ontspannen rit terug naar Boekarest.

De eerste attractie zal het Libearty Bear Sanctuary zijn, een gebied dat zich uitstrekt over 69 hectare naaldbossen waar u veilig meer dan 100 geredde bruine beren in hun natuurlijke habitat kunt observeren. Aangezien alle beren uit slechte omstandigheden zijn gered en ze hier vrij in hun natuurlijke omgeving kunnen leven, is het reservaat erkend als het meest ethische ter wereld.
De tour gaat verder met een schilderachtige rit van een uur door de Karpaten naar Bran Castle, algemeen bekend als Dracula's Castle. Dit 14e-eeuwse fort, dramatisch gelegen op een klif, is een van de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden van Roemenië en is beroemd om Bram Stoker's Dracula. U verkent de middeleeuwse kamers van het kasteel, smalle trappenhuizen en koninklijke vertrekken en geniet van het prachtige uitzicht over de omliggende vallei.
De laatste stop is de middeleeuwse stad Brasov, een prachtig bewaard gebleven Saksische stad in het hart van de Karpaten. Geniet van vrije tijd om door de geplaveide straatjes van de oude stad te dwalen, bewonder het Raadsplein (Piata Sfatului) en de imposante Zwarte Kerk, neem een kopje koffie in een van de lokale cafés en geniet van de sfeer voordat u terugrijdt naar Boekarest.

We had an absolutely fantastic day visiting the Libearty Bear Sanctuary, Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) and Brașov. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Romania and a great combination of nature, history and sightseeing. The Bear Sanctuary was a wonderful and moving experience. It was lovely to see the rescued bears living in a large, natural environment and to learn about their individual stories and the important work being done to protect them. Bran Castle was fascinating and definitely worth visiting. We really enjoyed exploring the castle, learning about its history and, of course, hearing about its famous connection to Dracula and Vlad the Impaler. The surrounding scenery was beautiful too. We finished with time in Brașov, which is a gorgeous city with a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed walking around the historic centre, admiring the colourful buildings and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Overall, it was a brilliant and memorable day trip and Alex our Guide was excellent. Each stop offered something completely different, and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Romania.

Such a fantastic trip. I was picked up by ‘Pedro’ (:)) outside my hotel right on time and we drove through lovely mountains and sunflower fields. The bear sanctuary was great - especially the cubs, the castle was interesting (though the surrounding village was equally lovely) and Braşov was great for food and architecture. Highly recommend.

This was an amazing activity for myself and my family! Our driver and tour guide Bogdan was very friendly and informative. He had a lot of great facts and insights about the castle and Romanian history, it was fascinating! I loved the bear sanctuary, they do amazing work taking care of the bears. What an amazing day! Bogdan was easy to communicate with, picked us up right outside our hotel, felt very safe being driven through the mountain roads with stunning scenery. The Bear Sanctuary was interesting and very informative, the Bears were very relaxed and seemed happy. The meal stop was excellent and the village and castle everything you would expect. This was a great day from start to finish with Bogdan. We started off at the bear sanctuary whhich was an eye opening experience. Maria the tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. There was also other animals there such as dogs, horses, wolves, and a deer. Then we went to Bran's Castle and walked around with Bogdan who was knowledgeable. The entry for both was around £15 each. Then we had some lunch in a resturant recommended by Bogdan. We got back to our hotel around 5pm and was picked up in the morning at 6:30. We had so much fun. The drive was around 3 hours there and back but Bogdan made this a comfortable experience. Bogdan even recommended a place for dinner, which served traditional food, which was great.
