Beschrijving
Fremantle moet de meest perfecte locatie zijn voor een elektrische fietstocht in Australië een overvloed aan fietspaden, lommerrijke straten en geschiedenis. Het andere aan Fremantle is dat het relatief verspreid is, dus om alle sites te zien en een waardering te krijgen voor de gebied waar je echt een fiets nodig hebt. Perth Electric Bike Tours wordt georganiseerd in samenwerking met onze winkel Perth Electric Bikes, precies in het hart van Freo op de hoek van de straten Adelaide en Point. Dit betekent dat wij een een grote selectie nieuwe en perfect onderhouden elektrische fietsen en al het nodige veiligheidsspullen. Fietsen op een elektrische fiets is net zo eenvoudig als fietsen op een gewone fiets, maar dan zonder inspanning, elk fitnessniveau kan deze tour doen.

Onze tour begint bij Perth Electric Bikes, gelegen op de hoek van de straten Adelaide en Point in het hart van Fremantle. Hier krijg je een perfect onderhouden elektrische fiets en alle benodigde veiligheidsuitrusting. Het rijden op een elektrische fiets is moeiteloos, waardoor deze tour toegankelijk is voor elk fitnessniveau.
Jongensschool en Basiliek Als we de winkel verlaten, worden we meteen ondergedompeld in de architectuur en geschiedenis van Fremantle. De door veroordeelden gebouwde jongensschool ligt voor onze deur, tegenover de prachtige basiliek.
Treinstation en originele kustlijnroute Een korte rit brengt ons naar het treinstation, waar we het oorspronkelijke kustlijnpad volgen. Dit pad toont de historische ontwikkeling van Fremantle en zijn relatie met de zee.
De haven staat centraal in de geschiedenis van West-Australië. Bij het standbeeld van CY O'Connor bespreken we de belangrijke bijdragen van de ingenieur en de naoorlogse zorgen over migranten die in de nabijgelegen installatie worden weergegeven.
Gage Roads-brouwerij en maritiem museum Vervolgens bezoeken we Gage Roads Brewery en het Maritiem Museum. De steegjes hier onthullen verhalen over de onderzeebootbasis van Fremantle uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog, met uitzicht op de HMAS Ovens.
Het Ronde Huis en de Walvistunnel We passeren The Round House en staan bij de ingang van de Whalers Tunnel. Vlakbij Bathers Beach zien we de overblijfselen van de oorspronkelijke steiger waar Kapitein Fremantle landde, met Challenger Harbor ernaast.
Fiets door dit weelderige groene park, een perfecte plek voor een ontspannen rit te midden van de torenhoge Norfolk Pines.
Geniet van de serene kustlijn bij Bathers Beach, waar u kunt genieten van de zon en kunt ontspannen aan de Indische Oceaan.
Bon Scott-standbeeld en South Beach Fremantle's favoriete zoon, Bon Scott van ACDC, wordt geëerd met een levensgroot bronzen beeld. Vervolgens strekken we onze benen tijdens een rit langs South Beach, langs een schilderachtig fietspad naar het watersculptuur van CY op zijn paard.
C.Y. O'Connor Beach is een ontspannen, hondvriendelijke plek die bekend staat om zijn gouden zand, heldere water en snorkelen rond een uniek offshore standbeeld van ingenieur C.Y. O'Connor.
Pauzeer even voor een moment van reflectie bij het Oorlogsmonument, dat een panoramisch uitzicht biedt over de stad en de kust.
Geniet van het adembenemende uitzicht vanaf deze historische plek, gewijd aan de soldaten die dienden in de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Je elektrische fiets zal schitteren terwijl we naar het einde van South Mole bij de haveningang glijden. Hier krijgt u een close-up van het technische wonder van Fremantle Harbor en bent u getuige van het binnenkomen en verlaten van gigantische containerschepen.
Sluit uw tour af op The Left Bank, een historische pub aan de rivier, waar u kunt ontspannen en verhalen kunt delen onder het genot van een drankje.
We varen terug naar Fremantle en nemen de achterafstraatjes naar de historische Fremantle Prison. We stoppen bij de ingang en lopen rond de gevangenismuren, terwijl we ons verdiepen in het intrigerende verleden.
Dolfijnen spotten en Containbow Terwijl we langs de rivier rijden, houden we dolfijnen in de gaten. Onze laatste sightseeingstop is The Containbow, perfect voor een Instagramwaardige foto voordat we terugkeren naar de winkel.

Great experience. I took my 86 year old dad and he loved it. The tour adapted to need. Very knowledgeable.
A wonderful way to learn all about the history of Fremantle, and to look at all the old buildings and the streets.

We took the train from Perth to Fremantle. It’s inexpensive, easy to find the station and a 25 min. Ride. The bike route’s mostly flat, scenic and limited road traffic. Phil our guide , local for 30 + years , was a wealth of information, interesting, and personable. We highly recommend Phil for most levels of bike riders , you’ll see hidden gems you won’t see on any other tour.

Fremantle bikes were great. Phillip was very knowledgeable in Fremantle history and hidden routes through the city. Our 14 mile trip had frequent stops along the way. Stopped at a local pub for lunch or snack (extra cost) Highly recommend

A great small group tour around Fremantle with some interesting history lessons and nice pub lunch at the end. The bikes and helmets were new, so 5 stars for the quality of equipment provided. The view from the war memorial was amazing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible service — hands down the best bike rental option for Rottnest! I found this company completely by chance after discovering that all bikes on the island were already booked — and honestly, what a blessing in disguise! On-island rentals not only cost 75 AUD for the cheapest bike (versus just 60 AUD here), but the opening hours make you lose almost four hours of your day. You can’t pick up a bike before 8:30 a.m., and you have to return it by 4 p.m., even if your ferry leaves at 7 p.m. That’s a huge waste of time. With this company, I had my bike from early morning until late evening, and those extra four hours were absolutely priceless. Around 4 p.m. everyone suddenly disappeared from the island to return their bikes, and I got to enjoy Rottnest almost alone — just me, the empty beaches and the quokkas. Magical! The bikes themselves were in fantastic condition: super comfortable, powerful, and the battery lasted me the entire day — it didn’t even drop a single bar. But what really makes this company exceptional is the customer service. I, like a complete idiot, mixed up the days and was chilling in the shop instead of collecting my bike. They could have easily marked it as a no-show and moved on (nobody would blame them!), but instead they waited an extra hour for me and even tried to reach me so I wouldn’t miss out. They went far above and beyond anything I expected. Let’s just say they handled my delay with kindness and understanding in a way you definitely can’t count on elsewhere — and I’m incredibly grateful. I genuinely think people don’t realise how much more time they gain by renting here instead of on the island. For a tiny difference in price, you get a full, stress-free day on Rottnest. This company delivers way beyond what you’d expect — highlhly, highly recommend! Thank you guys!!! ❤️❤️❤️ (also for the late fee - thing, you know what I mean)

Get way to see Freo and get a feel for its culture and history. A lot of stop and start at the beginning as well as riding through town. The ride through the streets of Freo would have been good if it wasn't so fast. Not much time to take in the sights. Also a lot of twists and turns through narrow streets and past bollards and down one way streets. This meant it was easy to lose sight of the bike leader. The ride was to the leaders pace rather than the participants, so you want to be a confident cyclist or speak up if you want to stop to check something out ... like the submarine. Nice to stop for lunch at a local pub so don't forget to bring your $.
