Freddie Mercury Opera Show in Rome

The two singers were very good. But the sound was in the past without amplification, everything was too dark and incredibly hot. A very high price for sitting at a simple table, it wasn't a theater, it was a room. It was not possible to see the singers' faces. I knew almost all the songs. But these versions seemed to be dress rehearsals. The experience wasn't great. You should invest more money in improving the scenography and sound reinforcement. The unplugged effect is nice, but here it was really minimal. Honestly, 50 euros is too much for such a poor performance.

For Freddie Mercury fans this a great show that takes his songs and combine's them with the beauty of Opera.

Super intimate setting. Maybe 25 people total! Wine and snacks were provided, which was lovely and unexpected! The only problem was got freakin’ hot it was in the space!

I thought this show was a perfect introduction to the opera for my 15 year old son. He is familiar with Freddie Mercury and I believe in exposing him to the culture of the region. The performers we amazing and kept our attention the entire time.

I attended the Freddie Mercury Opera with much hope. But it was a lost cause. When I arrived, there were no signs, no markings, no clue what room the show would be in. A three story building with stairs, and nothing to direct us to the right spot. I and three other couples were left to wonder around until about 10 minutes before show time the doors opened and let us in. It was a small room lit by candle light and a stage with a baby grand piano. There were two singers. One man and one woman. Both seemed capable at their craft. However, the piano was horrific, and I am being kind when I say that. It was severely out of tune. My best guess is that it had not been tuned in over 4 or 5 years. But they put on their show anyway. I cannot stress just how bad the show was. Where the money went to keep the piano in tune is a mystery. To question why they had not brought in another piano or electric keyboard is beyond me. Even doing the show without accompaniment would have been a major plus. But as it was, they should have refunded me my money and then paid me to sit there and listen to that crap. It was the longest hour of my life. If I could give them a zero, I would have. I was so looking forward to this show. What a disappointment.

The poster showed at least a half dozen singers. There were only two. The soprano could at least sing, the tenor no. They didn't even perform half the songs on the program. Just terrible. Don't waste your time! This was like a high school performance. The show lasted about 55 minutes.

Was really looking forward to ending our trip with this, however as the instructions to the venue were not very clear we ended up at the wrong location as there are 2 venues with the same name next to a church , feel this should be made clearer for people that are unfamiliar to the area as we just put the name in google maps and followed the directions, no part of full refund offered or even an offer to attend a different date from the organisers so was a disappointing end to our lovely weekend, 😢

It was ok, the two singers were good, as was the pianist, the atmosphere was constantly interrupted by the doormen opening the door to let in late arrivals which would have been better if they had waited for the end of the song since the doors were very squeaky! We booked a late trip to Rome and wanted to see some form of opera and thought this would be a light introduction, but I would look around for others as this didn’t feel very legitimate and more of a money making venture for a few people, there was wine but it was pre poured, we were told we could bring our own drinks but didn’t have time by the time we got there, it was quite a short show, around 45minutes.

This was an outstanding experience on our first night in Rome! The pianist and the vocalists were incredible and the performance lasted for almost one hour. The venue was delightful with small cabaret style tables arranged for the 20 or so guests. Each table was set with a half-carafe of red and a half-carafe of white wine, plus generous portions of tomatoes, olives and nibbles. We like to do advance reconnaissance on venues in unfamiliar cities before finding a restaurant and when we arrived 2 hours before the show, there was no signage on the building which housed the Oceania Hotel and apartments. The receptionist in the hotel kindly informed us that the performance would be on the ground floor on the left-side and even recommended that we try "Target" an excellent restaurant which was a 2 minute walk from the venue. Highly recommended!

A different but fun show. Hearing a good singer interpret the music together with a good pianist didn’t go wrong. Good mood
