Franse films met Engelse ondertiteling in Parijs

I love Lost in Frenchlation! It is an excellent way to discover or rediscover French films in the cinema, while making them accessible to an international audience thanks to English subtitles. The screenings really allow you to enjoy films on the big screen without having to master French perfectly.

A great place for non French (or struggling French) speakers to meet others who are similar and engage in watching great French cinema. You have fun, meet people and learn more about the place you're living through cinema. Have been to a few screenings now and I also recommend going to the drinks before!

As someone spending the summer in Paris for school, Lost in Frenchlation has been one of my favorite discoveries. I love movies, but I don't speak French fluently, so finding a way to experience French cinema without feeling lost was really important to me. Their screenings of French films with English subtitles have allowed me to engage with French culture in a way I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. I've seen incredible films that I probably never would have found on my own, and the subtitles make the experience completely accessible. The events are also a great way to meet people from all over the world who share a love of film. I would highly recommend Lost in Frenchlation to anyone living in or visiting Paris, especially if you love movies but don't speak French.

They work with a wide selection of independent cinemas, and it is an excellent way to meet other English speakers if you have just arrived in Paris or if you are just passing through.

Lost in Frenchlation’s screening of La Petite Dernière at the Luminor on June 11th was a perfect night out. The film club makes French cinema fun and easy to enjoy, even if your French isn’t fluent—thanks to the English subtitles. The crowd was a great mix of people, and the vibe was super welcoming. If you’re in Paris and love films, this is a must. Highly recommend!

Thanks to the founder of Lost in Frenchlation: Manon Kerjean, cinephiles (who are not completely fluent in French) are able to enjoy French cinema with English subtitles. I have lost count of how many incredible films I’ve seen in the past 10 years. Manon Kerjean shows the most cutting edge, contemporary, thought provoking films at independent cinemas in Paris. Often there are Q and A sessions after the film with the director and sometimes with the actors starring in the films. I’ve also enjoyed meeting fascinating people at the social event before the screening. If you’re in Paris you should definitely attend a Lost in Frenchlation screening.

When I moved to Paris with my mom, we loved watching movies, but it was hard for her to enjoy French films on the big screen without subtitles. Then, we discovered Lost in Frenchlation, and we’ve been going ever since! It’s an amazing initiative that lets foreigners experience wonderful French cinema with English subtitles, right here in the capital of cinema—Paris.
