Souvlaki is onze traditionele nationale streetfood, maar een nieuwe stroom van eetgelegenheden ontwricht met innovatie, creativiteit, inspiratie en het beste van wereldwijde invloeden! Ontmoeting met onze Gids en start uw verrukkelijke Kretenzische streetbfood-verkenning. 1e door de markt proeven we taarten en gebak van de oudste bakkerij in de stad geheel bewonderen we de Romeinse fontein naast de Sultans vrouw monument. Wandelend naar deze straat met aroma’s van vers gebakken en uitgeharde koffienoten en kruiden nemen we een hapje op Heraklions oudste tapaswinkel en proeven met wat ouzo De Kretenzers heerlijke mezws-tapas kleine gerechten vol smaak Variety is de naam.
Caffe Greek langzaam gekookt op de oude traditionele manier. Alle geheimen van Griekse koffie in combinatie met Kretenzische gebakjes en yami taarten.
Wandelen tussen de open markt en de levendige geplaveide straten van de Venetiaanse stad Heraklion. Bewonder de Venetiaanse en Ottomaanse architectuur en de Kretenzische cultuur.
De Nostra europa bekroonde het bouwen van de adel ontmoetingsplaats sinds de 14e eeuw. Na de tapas bezoeken we de stad heerlijke Bougatsa winkel - vernoemd naar Vyzantion-verpakt en gevuld (crème-kaas - greens-groundbeef) Daar nemen we een hap van Griekenlands beroemde zoete en zoute beste snack.
Venetiaanse Muren vastleggen ongelooflijke uitzichten, het zien van Zeus gezicht op Juchtas mount. Voor de kennismakingsliefhebbers : Daar hebben we de mogelijkheid om de langzaam gekookte beroemde Ofto van Kretenzers het overlevingsvoedsel te proeven met verse yoghurt en verse friet erbij. Voor Vegetarische Liefhebbers : Voor onze weg naar het Boheemse deel van de stad met zijn Monor Asia mezes en octopussen met favoriete gele beens en de Kretenzische fondue vol kruiden en kaas om in je mond te smelten. Yamas met een aantal heerlijke wijnen en Raki en altijd met wat griesmeel halva of yoghurt met sauer cherry sweet spoon.
Wandelend naar de geschiedenis via Metropolitan kerk en een oud klooster bereiken we de oudste en kleine smalle straatjes van de stad terwijl we de verborgen juweeltjes die onbekend zijn voor toeristen bewonderen
De open marktwandeling
Ontdek de bohemien geest van Lakkos, een van de meest fascinerende historische wijken van Heraklion. Lakkos, ooit bekend om zijn bruisende nachtleven en multiculturele karakter, is uitgegroeid tot een cultureel herkenningspunt waar traditionele architectuur, artistieke expressie en lokale geschiedenis samenkomen, en bezoekers een uniek kijkje bieden in het verleden en het creatieve heden van de stad.

Magda was the best guide!!! She knows the city very well, she accommodated my husband’s request for seafood instead of lamb, and was very personable and fun. We highly recommend this tour with Magda. Two thumbs up!
A lot of food! Two stops and the second stop had at least 8-9 plates of different dishes tapas style. More then I could eat, very friendly restaurant manager, guide was ok.
A brilliant experience combining history with the delicious Cretan food and drink. Magda was a brilliant guide - the whole thing could not have been better!
We had an amazing guide Magda and we learned so much about Crete and we sampled some very delicious authentic foods as we walked leisurely through Heraklion.

We had the most wonderful food tour with Magda. She was a perfect ambassador of Cretan hospitality, history and culture. She took us to places in Heraklion we may no have gone on our own, and the food…first, I’ve never eaten so much on a food tour and we usually take one in a every major city we visit. Secondly, Magda took us to places that had unique offerings that only a local would know. One of the restaurants served us lamb, sheep and pork raised from the owner’s farm in the mountains. And I loved that she encouraged us to eat with our hands. We were immersed into the Cretan culture for a day. Loved it!

Crete Heraklion specifically was wonderful. We enjoyed tasting local cuisine. There was plenty to eat! The gelato was wonderful!

What an incredible experience with Magda! She is our new best friend! Magda truly made us feel truly special and provided us with the great history of Crete, as well as a truly amazing food experience. She is a tremendous host who wants to provide you the best culinary experience Crete has to offer. Our last stop, a sit down lunch at an amazing restaurant on the water included beer and wine, numerous appetizers to enjoy, and when we thought that was it, out came the entrees of fresh sea bass and mussels, capped off with amazing desserts. I would give this food tour 10 stars if I could. Magda is an excellent guide. We had so much food! All of the food was thoughtful and local to Crete. I love food history and Magda has a lot of insight on the history of Crete, culture and food traditions. We were with another couple so the size of our group was perfect and we got to make new friends.
