Vanaf het punt van de ontmoeting geeft de gids je inzicht in de geschiedenis van deze renaissancestad en hoe deze ongelooflijke culturele beweging van de renaissance niet alleen Florence maar uiteindelijk de rest van Europa heeft getransformeerd. De gids begint met Piazza Della Republica, het centrale plein van Florence dat het centrum van de stad markeert. Na een klein praatje over de geschiedenis en de veranderingen van Piazza Republica sinds zijn oorsprong, loop je rechtstreeks naar het prachtige kunstwerk, de Piazza Della Duomo. Een showstopper van Filippo Brunelleschi, Giotto, Arnolfo & Francesco Talenti.
Loop langs het Duomo-plein, de gids leidt je dwars door de oude gebouwen en enkele van de historische bezienswaardigheden van Florence naar Palazzo Vecchio, waar het beeldhouwwerk van David (het origineel is in de Galleria dell'Accademia) van Michelangelo buiten het Palazzo staat Vecchio als symbool van het verzet van de Republiek tegen de tirannieke Medici.

We were sent a notice about one hour before the tour that our tour had been cancelled. And a full refund would be coming. I asked for a confirmation that a return was coming and there was Zero response. Very unprofessional.

Walking tour. Headphones made it very easy to hear the guide. Small group was a nice way to learn about the town. However I felt it concentrated very much on the religious features of Florence, which, while of some interest, was certainly not my only interest. If you didn’t have a knowledge of Christianity you would be wasting your time.
