Onze Florence Market Food Tour neemt je mee op een culinaire reis op de San Lorenzo Market, het hart van de Toscaanse eettradities. Hier geniet u van smakelijke lokale kazen, overheerlijk vleeswaren, verse olijfolie, een echte Italiaanse koffie, traditionele Lampredotto sandwich, oude balsamico azijn en nog veel meer. Zodra we onze weg door de markt hebben gegeten, gaan we naar een van de oudste wijnwinkels van Florence voor een privé wijnproeverij en food pairing. Eindig de tour net zoals een echte Italiaan zijn maaltijd zou eindigen : met zoetigheid! Nadat je hebt geleerd hoe je van je drankjes kunt genieten als een Italiaan, kun je genieten van een authentieke gelato en leren hoe je deze kunt onderscheiden van het nepspul! Neem een kijkje in de indrukwekkende San Lorenzo kerk, een van de oudste en belangrijkste kerken van Florence, diep verbonden met de Medici familie. Binnen zijn er de Medici-kapellen, de thuisbasis van de sculpturen van Michelangelo en de weelderige kapel van de prinsen.
Geniet van vers gemaakte cantucci, bekend als biscotti, gecombineerd met hun perfecte Toscaanse match : Vin Santo, een natuurlijk zoete witte wijn. Een klassiek lokaal ritueel en een heerlijke smaak van traditie.
De San Lorenzo Outdoor Leather Market is een van de levendigste openluchtmarkten van Florence. Wandel tussen kleurrijke kraampjes met Italiaanse lederwaren, sjaals en souvenirs terwijl je geniet van de bruisende energie van de historische wijk.
De Centrale Markt is een 19e-eeuws monument van ijzer en glas dat de eetcultuur van Florence viert, met traditionele eetkraampjes beneden en een eetzaal boven.

De stand Le Lame, op de Centrale Markt, wordt al generaties lang door dezelfde familie gerund en brengt dagelijkse schatten uit de Toscaanse heuvels, waaronder olijfolie, azijn, wijnen, likeuren en traditionele smaken. Probeer een verscheidenheid van deze biologische producten!
Om de ware Florentijnse geest te voelen, stopt u bij Bar del Mercato, waar verkopers samenkomen voor koffie, wijn en roddels. Maak kennis met de lokale bevolking en geniet van een van de beste koffies van Florence.
Ontdek echte Florentijnse streetfood met de legendarische Bambi familie. Proef lampredotto gemaakt volgens een eeuwenoud recept, en probeer Toscaanse gehaktballen, allemaal gecombineerd met een glas Sangiovese wijn voor de volledige lokale ervaring.
Stap binnen in deze historische wijnwinkel, gerund door drie generaties sommeliers sinds 1944. Blader door 2.500 etiketten en geniet van twee wijnen van de eigen boerderij van de familie, gecombineerd met een hoofdgerecht dat van de markt is gebracht.

- Houd er rekening mee dat de genoemde proeverijen een selectie zijn van de heerlijke gerechten die we vaak aanbieden. Zowel het aanbod als de tourstops kunnen per dag of seizoen verschillen, maar u zult zeker genieten van een heerlijk scala aan lokale smaken!

We spent a lovely morning with Chiara, the meet up spot was easy to find and she was easily spotted too which was very handy! She took us around some beautiful local food places where she was well known by all the vendors who all made us feel very welcome! She is very clearly passionate about the local cuisine and was very encouraging, even giving us some quizzes to identify the ingredients through taste which was very fun, and patient with as as we tried new things (unfortunately, the Lampredotto was not for me... But my wife loved it!) We really enjoyed the pace of the tour, the atmosphere and the history we learned as we toured the local area, meeting and speaking to the families that have been here for generations and sampling those beautiful wines, meats, cheeses and delicious gelato to end it all (let's not forget the Cantucci which will hold a special place in my heart forever) The price of the tour was well worth the experience, I would recommend the tour and Chiara to anyone who is looking for a relaxed fun afternoon and want to experience proper Firenze cuisine 🩷
