My husband and 13 year old learned about flamenco rhythms and how to clap and play the cajon for the first time. Wonderful way to learn about flamenco. Fidel was a patient and knowledgeable teacher.
Having a private lesson with DanFernando was exciting and fun. He was really able to make you feel comfortable while also teach you more about flamenco box drumming. In addition, he al took me to eat tapas and have a drink at a cafe nearby before ending our time together. He even helped me practice my Spanish. I highly recommend doing this workshop whether it be alone or with others.
Had my lesson with beautiful Kati and it was one of the most amazing things that leads me to fall in love with Seville and to want coming back again. Kati is like a encyclopaedia of flamenco, from dance to music, its history and styles. I learn so much from her and wish only ever more! Learning the beats and steps makes and adds so much more dimensions to appreciate the arts and tradition of flamenco. Love it!
The flamenco box session with our teacher Fidel was relaxing, informative & fun! We really enjoyed time away from the tourist crowds & meeting Fidel whose knowledge & enthusiasm shone through. Suitable for all ages & musical abilities, we would highly recommend.
I love percussion and I'm impressed by Flamenco. What a unique experience I've had in Fidel's studio. Fidel's teaching has really been well understandable. It was so much fun to do the clapping, stomping and of course: Sitting and drumming on the Cajon. I really recommend to book this workshop with "Not just a Tourist". If you love flamenco rhythm and music then this is a must to do in Sevilla.
While the exterior may be a bit disconcerting, once Kati opens the door, you will be glad you took a chance on this drum lesson. Katie is incredibly knowledgeable about the artistry and history of flamenco. She delights in sharing this information. She gave my family and me a wonderful lesson with very detailed and clear instructions. We are all novices and feel that we learned so much. Kati even gave us tips to practice at home. If you are visiting Seville, you will be in this neighborhood to visit the Macarena church and this would be a great way to fill the afternoon.
