Tijdstippen en activiteiten: Eenmaal aangekomen wordt u verwelkomd op de traditionele Fiji manier met een Fiji begroeting die een traditionele Kava drankje omvat, voordat de activiteiten beginnen. Verken het culturele centrum om meer te weten te komen over de rijke geschiedenis en tradities van de Yasawa-eilanden en de historisch belangrijke grot waar het centrum naast ligt. Geniet van een meke (muziek- en dans) optreden, neem deel aan een Fiji ambachtelijke workshop, leer over lokale geneeskrachtige planten, geniet van een Fiji kookdemonstratie en snorkel in de prachtige onderwater koraaltuinen van Kuata Island in dit Marine Reserve gebied. Houd er rekening mee dat de vertrektijd die op uw tour wordt weergegeven de VERTREKTIJD VAN HET SCHIP VANAF PORT DEANRAU is, NIET DE OPHAALTIJD VAN UW COACH. Als u een hotel pick-up nodig heeft, selecteer dan uw hotel uit de lijst met pick-up punten in uw boekingsproces. Alle bustransfers moeten minstens de dag voor uw tour vooraf worden geboekt bij ons reserveringskantoor. De bus pick-ups beginnen ongeveer 75 minuten voordat het schip vertrekt uit Port Denarau. A big part of this for me was to snorkel which they decided the waves were too rough for us to out. But oddly enough they let the first group go out, when you pay this much money and get only half of the experience it’s not good. I do understand they are looking out for the group. But we basically sat there for over 2 hours.

For safety reasons, water-based activities such as snorkeling are always assessed on the day based on prevailing sea and weather conditions. These decisions are made by our crew with guest safety as the highest priority. On occasions where conditions are variable, activity timing or group rotations may be adjusted to ensure safe participation where possible. This was the most authentic and memorable experience of our entire trip to Fiji. From the moment we walked along a beautiful, greenery-lined path to a beachfront hut, it felt special. We were welcomed with a traditional kava ceremony led by the village chief and local Kuata villagers. Sitting in the hut with the sound of ocean waves during the ceremony was truly surreal and unforgettable. Afterwards, we enjoyed traditional singing and dancing, then were taken to a cave where stories were shared. We drank fresh coconuts and enjoyed a delicious traditional Fijian meal, including kokoda, cooked in a wood-fired stone oven. This experience was easily the highlight of our 10-day trip. If you’re looking to step outside the resort bubble and connect with authentic Fijian culture, I can’t recommend the Kuata Cultural Tour highly enough. We left with a deep appreciation for Fiji’s indigenous communities and their traditions.

This is a great cultural experience - to learn about Fijian customs and traditions. Visitors will experience welcome ritual, drinking kava, singing, dancing and cooking. The cave setting for this visit is unique.

Beautiful island. Need to be physically capable to transfer from catamaran to small boat to get to island . The workers on small boat were very helpful . The Fijians on the island were extremely friendly and hospitable . A fun day .

Napoleon and Bella did a wonderful job showing us an authentic kava ceremony. This experience is a lot deeper than other kava ceremonies because afterwards they lead you up to a cave where their ancestors first originated. The feed you some freshly made local dishes as well. I really thought this was an unique time on the island.
