VOORBIJ HET MASSATOERISME: HET ECHTE TOSCAANSE LEVEN Eerste E-bike tour in Toscane sinds 2011, onder leiding van inheemse gidsen. Weg van de drukte van Florence, beperken we ritten tot een MICRO-GROEP VAN MAX 4 PERSONEN ALLEEN voor een premium, persoonlijke ervaring. Dit is een diepe onderdompeling in het echte lokale leven. We rijden 30 - 40 km (19 - 25mi) op premium e-bikes, waarbij de uiteindelijke route op de dag wordt bepaald op basis van uw tempo en voorkeuren. WAT U ZULT ERVAREN : • GESCHIEDENIS : Rijd over Etruskische wegen (200 v.Chr.) en de Via degli Dei, waar Leonardo droomde van een vlucht en Dante Beatrice ontmoette. • VERBORGEN PARELTJES: Zie panoramische uitzichten, Michelangelo’s ouderlijk huis, of een monnikenklooster op 800m. • LOKALE SMAKEN (ALLES INBEGREPEN): Stop bij een boerderij om vers brood, kaas, fruit en groenten op te halen. Bereik vervolgens een familielandgoed dat extra vergine olijfolie en wijn produceert, waar we samen de traditionele maaltijd bereiden en genieten. Alles is volledig inbegrepen! Dankzij de verhoogde ligging is Fiesole altijd een van de meest populaire plekken geweest voor Florentijnen en toeristen om te genieten van het uitzicht over Florence en de Arno-vallei, maar ook om uit te kijken over het prachtige Toscaanse platteland dat het dorp omringt. Fiesole ligt op slechts 6,5 km afstand van het centrum van Florence, maar buiten de stad, waardoor het het beste startpunt is om het Toscaanse platteland echt te verkennen zonder te ver van de stad te gaan, maar weg van de drukke plaatsen.
Het stadje Fiesole op de heuveltop biedt een panoramisch uitzicht over Florence, weg van de drukte. De Renaissance-stad en al haar levendige terracotta daken en torens zijn net zo zichtbaar bovenop Fiesole, als wanneer je op Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence zelf zou staan, alleen met veel minder mensen die haar prachtige uitzicht bewonderen.
Schilderachtig uitzicht op het Toscaanse platteland, evenals op slechts 20 minuten met de bus van het centrum van Florence.
Afhankelijk van het seizoen bereiken we een klooster dat nog bewoond wordt door monniken op een hoogte van meer dan 800m. We steken het pad over van de Via degli dei, de oude Via Flaminia Minor, de Etruskische weg die minstens 200 jaar voor Christus het Apennijnengebergte doorkruiste, vandaag Popular Historical & Scenic Hiking Trail.
Afhankelijk van het seizoen bereiken we Settignano en het ouderlijk huis van de Michelangelo, waar de jonge Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni opgroeide en zijn vaardigheden aanscherpte.
Leonardo da Vinci woonde in Fiesole en zou vanaf hier in 1506 de vliegmachine hebben getest

- De verbinding tussen Fiesole en het centrum van Florence is erg handig, zelfs met de openbare bus.7 dagen per week de bus (nummer 7, Autolinee Toscane - AT), stedelijke ticket prijs € 1,70, vertrekt elke 15 minuten en bereikt de andere locatie in minder dan 20 minuten (laatste rit van Fiesole naar Florence is om 01:00). De halte Fiesole is de laatste op de busroute. Tickets MOETEN WORDEN GEVALIDEERD EENMAAL AAN BOORD.

This was an incredible breathtaking tour in the hills of Tuscany. There are many climbs on the bike and so I recommend it for people with a little bit experience navigating hills and downhills. Giovanni our guide was incredible. Friendly and helpful assuring we had a safe and superb time! The lunch was delicious and refreshing. Highly recommend.
Giovanni is an excellent guide. Upon meeting he made sure the helmets were fitting correctly and that everyone was comfortable on their bike. The first part of the tour was around Fiesole itself with lots of information on the history, and then we got onto the roads in the area. He was always checking that everyone was OK and indicated to us when there was a hill coming up (likewise going down) so that we could adjust our gears accordingly. we stopped off at a wee market and were given hunks of local cheese to try (even being a non-cheese lover I could tell it was good) We then stopped at a farm shop to pick up the ingredients for lunch, then cycled on to another farm - our lunch venue where wine was taken straight from the vat. Giovanni then prepared lunch for us and when finished we completed our tour back to the start. it was a full morning (+lunch), so well worth the money. I would thoroughly recommend Giovanni - this is more than a tour, you feel his passion and love for the area.ac
What an amazing experience, top to bottom! First and foremost, Giovanni is a true gem! He takes such great care to ensure you are having a good time, that you are safe and that everything is as planned. I have done tons of bike tours in various Countries, he was the best guide I have ever had. Then the bike ride is amazing, and a great getaway from the City with tons of beautiful scenery. Finally, the farm lunch is delicious and unbelievably picturesque. 10 out of 10 across the board!!
This was the absolute highlight of a trip that was already filled with amazing experiences. Giovani is an excellent guide who takes a lot of care to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. He is native to the area and well educated on the history of all the places he takes you. You always hear how beautiful the Tuscan countryside is, but no photos can ever do it justice. It is truly a magical place and seeing it outside by bike is so much better than just driving. The stops at the farm and winery were pleasant and peaceful - and the food was very fresh and satisfying without being too heavy. The e-bikes were high quality and made it possible to travel comfortably on the very hilly terrain. One thing to know is that even though the e-bikes help a *lot*, and Giovani builds in regular breaks - the tour is still a significant workout and the bikes must be pedaled. You don’t need to be an athlete at all, but you do need to be generally healthy and fit to complete the ride. But otherwise, you should not hesitate to book this tour. It is incredible and worth every dime!
We loved our day with Giovanni. The trip was filled with very interesting history of the different sites. The country side was beautiful and the lunch and tour of the farm was so cool. Thank you Giovanni.
This was a really fun day out and away from Florence for me and my husband. Giovanni was terrific-knowledgeable and personable. He was also very prepared with extra gloves and windbreakers to make sure his guests were warm. I wish I had asked him to take photos of us along the way, but I was probably too cold to stop!
Giovanni was amazing. If you are staying in Florence and want to spend a day biking in the Tuscan Hills - it is a must. Giovanni has been giving tours for over 10 years. He has a limit of four riders per tour. When I showed up, it was just me (November) and it didn't matter. His ebikes are in great shape, he had asked my height in advance so the seat was ready to go. It was a little chilly and he had extra gloves and a windbreaker. We rode a round trip 20 miles to and from Fiesole to a monastery overlooking all over Florence and back. On the way back we stopped at a farm stand that had a to go lunch of bread, tomatoes and cheese waiting for us. We stopped at a winery to eat lunch and sample their new wines. Getting to Fiesole was easy. I took a cab from central Florence on the way there (about 15-minute ride) and the #7 bus on the way back.
A fantastic tour, we cycled through wonderful places. The local guide Francesco is friendly and helpful. The Galardi-Fattoria di Pioggiopiano is a fantastic place. I highly recommend it to everyone.
