Oeganda is een land dat veel voedsel verbouwt. Je krijgt de kans om de verschillende soorten fruit te kopen en naar avocado te proeven die erg vers is van de boom en ook ander fruit.
Een plek om de georganiseerde chaos te observeren.We rusten uit bij een van de gebouwen in Kampala en hebben vanuit de lucht uitzicht op het taxipark en het stadscentrum van Kampala. We passeren het taxipark om te zien hoe mensen naar binnen trekken om taxi's naar hun bestemming te brengen
Dit is de grootste markt in Kampala die erg populair is in de verkoop van tweedehands spullen zoals kleding, schoenen tassen en eten. Het is een markt waar je alles kunt vinden wat je nodig hebt om thuis te gebruiken.
Dit is gelegen in het midden van Kampala.Je loopt de minaret op om het beste uitzicht over de stad Kampala te hebben. Het is het punt waar je elk deel van Kampala samenvat waar je geweest bent tijdens de wandeling door Kampala.
Oeganda is een land met ongeveer 5 koninkrijken waarvan de koningen regeren als culturele leiders.Deze koningen staan ook onder de president.Bezoek aan het paleis zal je helpen meer te weten te komen over het Buganda-koninkrijk, het grootste koninkrijk in Oeganda. U moet betalen bij het bezoekerskantoor en vervolgens een rondleiding maken naar het paleis, de Canon van Idi Amin en de martelkamers.

I had a wonderful afternoon doing this walking tour with Fridaus! We saw so many things and she explained everything really nicely and gave me a great insight into the culture and history of the city of Kampala. I really appreciated having her to navigate the markets especially, which are amazingly crazy. She was cheerful, patient and gave me time to enjoy each of the locations and answered all my questions. We took a free walking tour with Fatuma and we absolutely amazed. Not only did we see like all the major city highlights of Kampala but Fatuma provided historical insights in the most diverse aspects of Ugandan culture and society. To walk the busy streets of Nakasero (the main market area), which can be overwhelming and even a little stressful, feels relaxed and casual in her presence. All in all it was an amazing experience I sincerely recommend to everyone who wants to experience Kampala in an authentic way. What’s more, as we were looking for somebody who could establish to a contact to the people of Wakaliwood (basically the Ugandan Hollywood, if you are not familiar with them, check them out) Fatuma connected us with them and made time to take us there just two days after our walking tour. This in itself also was one of the most amazing experience I’ve had travelling, as we were shown the wakaliwood studios, play around with the self made requisites, meet the mastermind behind wakaliwood Isaac Nabwana, as well as the actors and the wakastars. At the end of our tour I was even allowed to act out a scene with the actors which was filmed by Isaac the founder of wakaliwood himself. In summary I wholeheartedly recommend the experience and I would and will come back to do another tour in the future.

Fatumah was an amazing guide through the busy streets of Kampala. She catered to our ideal start time and met us along with two other tourists. We had a nice walk around the city, learning about the fresh food and second hand markets, the national mosque, various monuments, the city’s history, the taxi park (wow!) and more... Fatumah is very knowledgeable and truly kind. It was such a pleasure learning from someone who knows the city, and all of its hills! Would highly recommend this tour as a way to first get your bearings, and to break into the pearl of Africa!
