Fantastische nachttour bij El Refugio de Monteverde

We found exactly the guide we wished for in José. Our main interest lies in reptiles and amphibians, and thanks to José, we were able to find everything we had hoped for. We immediately booked him for more tours, and he presented us with a Quetzal and a Toucan leaving its nest, truly unique occurrences that are rarely experienced! We wholeheartedly recommend José. He is an excellent expert on the local flora and fauna, and a delightful person! 🫶

Highly recommend a private tour with Jose. He showed us a troupe of spider monkeys, 5 different snakes, and the most amazing birds and frogs. He was such a knowledgeable guide and was very engaging with our 8-year old. He seemed to love his job and really enjoyed sharing the beautiful flora and fauna of the wildlife park with us. 10/10! If we go back to the area, we would definitely find Jose again for a tour. We have been very impressed by Costa Rica’s tour guides and would never go back to sightsee at a wildlife area without one. They are oftentimes working at the same locations multiple times a week so they will be able to spot the “favorite” spots of snakes or other animals. They are also on a social network with other guides and share information - when one guide spots something interesting, they’ll share with the other guides so they can show their guests.

Jose is absolutely the best guide that We met in Costa Rica. He just loves the nature and very proud to show people the beauty of surrounding at any time, day or night. Because of his knowledge he is able to find something that many other guides passing without paying attention. If you have any choice with selection of guide I highly suggest go with Jose.

Great family activity. We first set off by boat with Tito and his team who show you the most beautiful spots where the fish are (I even swam above a small shark and a ray), and where the most beautiful corals are found. Then fruit tasting on a paradise beach to be joined by our super guide Tony accompanied by his telescope who has already done a spotting in advance to show you the magnificent wildlife that without him honestly we would have missed without realizing it. Thank you for making my daughter and I shine.

Jose, thank you so much for the tour. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot about birds, monkeys, and various animals and plants across the different locations. We were able to observe them very well. In our case, the tour was during the day, but we will definitely plan to do the night tour in the future as well, since we know it’s also very interesting, especially for seeing frogs and other animals. We are truly grateful for the experience and recommend it 100%. It’s something we would definitely do again without hesitation.
