Ben je slechts op doorreis door Faial of geef je de voorkeur aan een kortere tour, maar wil je toch de meest iconische plekken van het eiland zien? Dit is de ideale tour! Ontdek in slechts een paar uur de imposante caldera, de vulkaan Capelinhos en uitzichtpunten met adembenemende vergezichten over de naburige eilanden: Pico, São Jorge en Graciosa. Monte da Guia is een vulkanische kegel met twee halfronde kraters. Vanaf deze locatie heeft u een prachtig uitzicht op het strand van Porto Pim en de stad Horta.
Monument van Nossa Senhora da Conceição, vanaf deze plek zie je aan de ene kant het historische centrum van de stad en de baai van Horta en aan de andere kant Praia do Almoxarife. Je kunt ook het naburige eiland Pico en het hoogste punt van Portugal, de Pico-berg, zien. Op dagen zonder bewolking kun je nog steeds het eiland São Jorge en Graciosa zien. Zonder twijfel een plek met een bevoorrecht uitzicht!
Op de route naar Caldeira do Faial nemen we een weg met een prachtig uitzicht over de hele parochie van Flamengos. Dit is de enige parochie op het eiland die geen zee om zich heen heeft en wordt omringd door bergen en vulkanen.
Caldeira, gelegen in het centrum van het eiland, is het ware ex-libris van Faial. Het is een van de grootste vulkanische kraters op de Azoren, die aan de oorsprong van het eiland lag, met een diameter van ongeveer 2000 meter, een omtrek van zeven kilometer en een diepte van 400 meter.
Site met geweldige vulkanische schoonheid. Het is een van de grootste toeristische trekpleisters van de Atlantische Oceaan, namelijk de Azoren. Het landschap herinnert ons aan een maanomgeving. Geniet van het contrast van het grijs van het zand met het groen van de heuvels en het blauw van de lucht en de zee.
We gaan de natuurlijke zwembaden van Porto do Comprido bezoeken. Deze poelen werden gevormd door basaltrotsen, die ontstonden door de stolling van gloeiende lava in zee.

• Je wordt tussen 9:15 en 9:30 uur opgehaald voor de tour. Houdt u alstublieft rekening met de wachttijd bij het ophaalpunt gedurende deze periode. Aangezien we andere deelnemers van verschillende locaties zullen ophalen, kan de gids niet lang wachten. Ramiro was extremely responsive and helped us customize the tour a bit for our needs. He's extremely personable and the tour has a nice mix of explanation as well as self exploration. My whole family was very happy with it!
