Dompel jezelf onder in een fascinerende reis door tijd en geschiedenis met onze exclusieve tour naar de stad Itálica en het klooster van San Isidoro del Campo. Onze tour begint in Itálica, een van de eerste Romeinse steden gesticht in Hispania. Itálica, gelegen op enkele kilometers van Sevilla, was de geboorteplaats van keizers als Trajanus en Hadrianus. Hier kun je het op twee na grootste amfitheater van het Romeinse Rijk verkennen, dat plaats biedt aan 25.000 toeschouwers, een rondleiding krijgen door de Romeinse straten en huizen met hun ongelooflijke mozaïeken en de ruïnes van oude Romeinse huizen die je meenemen naar het dagelijkse leven van tweeduizend jaar geleden en ken het Forum en de Tempels: Dompel jezelf onder in het politieke en religieuze leven van de stad met een bezoek aan de overblijfselen van het forum en de tempels. Vervolgens gaan we naar het klooster van San Isidoro del Campo, een indrukwekkend kloostercomplex gesticht in de 14e eeuw. Dit klooster is een prachtig voorbeeld van gotische mudejar- en renaissancearchitectuur.

We beginnen de excursie naar de Romeinse stad Itálica en vertrekken rond 9.30 uur vanuit Sevilla. In iets meer dan 15 minuten komen we aan in het nabijgelegen stadje Santiponce, waar meer dan 2000 jaar geleden de Romeinen hun eerste stad op het Iberisch schiereiland stichtten. Onze officiële gids geeft je een korte presentatie van de plaats en we gaan de oude stad binnen waar keizers als Hadrianus en Trajanus werden geboren om alle geheimen van de plaats te ontdekken. We wandelen langs de oude Romeinse straten, mozaïeken, thermale baden en huizen, zoals Neptunus of 'het Huis van de Vogels'. Dit zullen enkele van de bewaarde wonderen zijn die we zullen kunnen ontdekken tijdens een rondleiding vol zeer verrassende beelden. Het beroemde Itálica-amfitheater is het derde grootste ter wereld, met een capaciteit voor 25.000 toeschouwers en waar de beroemde gladiatorengevechten plaatsvonden. We zullen ook het beroemde Romeinse theater zien, ontdekt in het midden van de 20e eeuw.
Na een bezoek aan de archeologische vindplaats zal Naturanda je vergezellen naar het klooster van San Isidoro del Campo, een middeleeuws fort dat schatten verbergt uit de mudejar-, gotische en barokperiode, schilderijen, muurschilderingen en belangrijke sculpturen. Na het beëindigen van dit bezoek gaan we terug naar Sevilla, waar onze gids afscheid zal nemen na te hebben genoten van deze prachtige activiteit.

A small tour which allows you time to wander around and explore without the crowds. The guide explained a lot of extra things along the way and even helped a find a local gem for lunch!

This was a wonderful adventure to Ancient Roman ruins. Miguel, our guide, has extensive knowledge of the site and gave us a lot of new insights about Roman history. We had a great time and wished the tour was longer.
