We vertrekken later om je uit te laten slapen, de drukte te vermijden en de zonsondergang aan het einde van de tour te zien. We beginnen met snorkelen bij Hol Chan en Shark Ray Alley. Hol Chan heeft de grootste verscheidenheid aan soorten die in het gebied te zien zijn en wordt vaak vergeleken met een aquarium, terwijl je bij Shark Ray Alley een ontmoeting met verpleegsterhaaien en pijlstaartroggen van dichtbij kunt meemaken. Kijk mee vanaf de boot of zwem met ze mee! Vervolgens serveren we onze beroemde Belizaanse lunchbuffet aan boord. Traditionele gerechten zoals gestoofde kip en rijst en bonen met onze Captain's secret recept BBQ-vis! Na de lunch stoppen we bij het naburige eiland Caye Caulker voor ca. 1 uur vrije tijd om het eiland te verkennen, gevolgd door een ontspannen cruise bij zonsondergang terug naar San Pedro, waarbij ceviche wordt geserveerd. Open bar met lokale rum, wodka, gin, frisdrank en sappen is inbegrepen. Probeer de specials, rum punch en "panty rippers"!

Ophalen is niet inbegrepen. We vertrekken vanaf het Palapa Bar-dok en we ontmoeten elkaar daar 15 minuten voor vertrek. Daarna duurt de rit naar het Hol Chan Marine Reserve 45 minuten, terwijl je op comfortabele kussens ligt te genieten van de oceaan, het uitzicht en de zon, vergezeld van drankjes en muziek.
Hol Chan is Maya voor "klein kanaal" en is een natuurlijke onderbreking in het rif, dat altijd een zeer productief visgebied is geweest met een overvloed aan zeeleven. Het staat open voor de zee achter het rif, zodat zeedieren van de buitenkant van het rif naar de binnenkant kunnen reizen en vice versa. Het werd in 1987 het eerste zeereservaat in het hele land van Belize en dit heeft ertoe geleid dat de soort zich heeft hersteld en de koralen ongedeerd zijn blijven groeien. Dit snorkelgebied heeft de grootste verscheidenheid aan zeeleven en koraal, vergeleken met een "onderwaterdierentuin" - je hebt de kans om allerlei soorten koralen, vissen en zelfs zeeschildpadden te zien! In het gebied zijn meer dan 160 soorten vissen en veertig soorten koraal waargenomen. Het snorkelen hier duurt minimaal 45 minuten.
Het verhaal achter Shark Ray Alley is dat het altijd, vanwege de ligging dicht bij het kanaal om buiten het beschermende barrièrerif te gaan om te vissen, het punt was waar de lokale vissers binnenkwamen met hun vangst en deze begonnen schoon te maken - het gooien van de hoofd, enz. in het water. Dit veranderde het tot een natuurlijke gewoonte voor het zeeleven, zoals verpleegsterhaaien en pijlstaartroggen die het geluid van een motor associëren met voedsel. Het water is ondiep en transparant en je zult de verpleegsterhaaien en pijlstaartroggen aan de oppervlakte zien, wat betekent dat zelfs als je niet het water in gaat, je er ook vanaf de boot van kunt genieten! De verpleegsterhaaien en pijlstaartroggen zwemmen uiteindelijk weg, maar de stop is minimaal 20 minuten.
Caye Caulker is precies hoe je je een authentiek Caribisch eiland voorstelt en een mooi contrast met de meer ontwikkelde Ambergris Caye. Sinds de jaren zestig is het toerisme op het eiland langzaam gegroeid, maar het heeft zijn rustige, ontspannen sfeer behouden, onder het motto "Go Slow". We stoppen bij de beroemde "de Split", vanwaar u kunt wandelen om het dorp te verkennen.

It was amazing!!Everyone on the boat was very informative and they kept us laughing. Chefs kiss to the beautiful sunset view on the way back.
Capt Charlie, Anna, and Ray were amazing! They were helpful and attentive. Ray guided our snorkeling experience and he seemed just as excited to spot the sealife as we were! The food was superb. The entire experience was the best snorkeling experience that I have ever had.
This guided tour was the best I’ve been on. The crew on this boat was amazing. Ana, Charlie and Jose were very nice and attentive. They gave great directions and kept us laughing the whole time. Ana did a great job during the snorkeling. She took care of my wife (who was scared) and made sure she was safe the whole time while still showing us the reef and all its wildlife. The food served was great and plentiful. I had seconds of both meals. It was so delicious. The drinks never stopped coming but be careful. This tour was worth every penny. On the way back we were able to see the beautiful sun set. You will not be disappointed.

Do yourself a favor and book with Miss Anna and her crew. You will not regret it! We did the full day tour, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Belize. From the moment we stepped on the boat, Miss Anna, Rey, Captain Jose, and the entire crew made us feel right at home. Their hospitality was exceptional, and by the end of the day it felt like we had spent the day with friends. Sailing the beautiful waters of Belize, snorkeling, seeing the incredible wildlife, and taking in everything this amazing country has to offer made for an unforgettable day. The attention to detail was evident in everything they did. The drinks never stopped flowing, with plenty of alcoholic and nonalcoholic options, and the food was outstanding. Lunch was a full, delicious meal, not just a snack. After a full day on the water, they welcomed us back on board with fresh ceviche, more drinks, and the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy the ride back to the island. It was such a thoughtful touch and the perfect ending to an incredible day. The sunset cruise back to the island was absolutely breathtaking. It was, without question, one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Sitting on the boat with great music, amazing people, delicious food, and that view is a memory I will cherish forever. I’ve been on another boat tour in Belize before, and this experience far exceeded our expectations. The crew was fun, engaging, professional, and genuinely cared that everyone had an amazing time. We had an absolutely incredible adventure on the snorkeling and sunset cruise with Belize Catamaran in San Pedro! From the moment we stepped aboard, Charlie, Anna, and Ray made sure the day was nothing short of fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about sharing the best of a Belize experience. We snorkeled at two completely different spots, each offering something unique - especially Shark Alley where we had an in-the-water close-up view of nurse sharks. It was amazing to see such a variety of marine life in one trip. All the gear was provided, so there was zero hassle — just grab your mask and fins and go. After our snorkeling stops as we sailed toward Caulker Caye, the crew served a delicious lunch on board, which gave us a chance to relax, refuel, and soak in the views. The catamaran itself was comfortable and well-maintained, making the whole day feel smooth and very relaxing . Charlie (El Capitan) did a great job at the helm! The whole experience — the snorkeling, the food, the crew, the scenery — came together perfectly, Watching the sun set in the West and moon rise in the East from the boat on the way back was the ideal way to end the day. Huge thanks to Charlie, Anna, and Ray for such a memorable adventure. Anna and Ray were our guides on the snorkeling stops as well as making sure everyone was comfortable and happy every minute of the day. If you're in San Pedro and looking for a fun, well-organized way to see the reef and enjoy the water, this is it. Highly recommend it! PS. I have snorkeled and dived at The Great Barrier Reef in Australia and this was a better experience.
We couldn’t have asked for a better tour!!! It was hands down the most magical day! From sea turtles, sharks, stingrays to dolphins!!! Our kids couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had! I was unsure how much our 5yr old would be able to do without one parent having to sit out with him but our guides helped so much. This was our favorite part of our stay in Belize.
Charlie and Ray were a great team. We had a wonderful time. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a fun day out on the water.
My sister and I went on this excursion and it was by far the best out of anywhere else we have been! The snorkeling was insane! Better than Hawaii, Jamaica or Greece hands down. I can’t say enough about the crew they were phenomenal! I totally forgot to bring a towel and one of the crew ran all the way to the store to get me one before we departed! They never let our cups run empty and the lunch and homemade ceviche were sooo good. The attention to detail and level of service was second to none and we will be back with more friends and family to do it again! Thank you!!
