De Koningin Emmabrug, ook wel bekend als de "Swinging Bridge", is een historische voetgangersbrug in Willemstad, Curaçao. Het verbindt de wijken Punda en Otrobanda aan de overkant van de Sint-Annabaai. Gebouwd in 1888, zwenkt het open om schepen door te laten, en biedt schilderachtige uitzichten en een belangrijk cultureel herkenningspunt.
Fort Amsterdam is een historisch fort in Willemstad, Curaçao, gebouwd door de Nederlanders in 1635. Het diende als militair bolwerk en werd later de zetel van de regering. Het fort biedt een panoramisch uitzicht op de haven en is een belangrijke site die de koloniale geschiedenis en architectuur van het eiland weerspiegelt.
Handelskade is een iconische strook aan het water die de kleurrijke en charmante gebouwen toont die synoniem zijn geworden met de architectuur van Curacao. De rij pastelkleurige gebouwen in Nederlandse koloniale stijl langs de gracht creëert een verbluffend en fotogeniek tafereel dat vaak op ansichtkaarten en reisbrochures te zien is.
Kura Hulanda is een levendige en historische wijk die zeker de moeite waard is om te verkennen. Het gebied is de thuisbasis van kleurrijke architectuur, levendige straten en enkele van de beste restaurants en bars van het eiland. Reizigers kunnen door de smalle straatjes van de wijk slenteren en de unieke sfeer opsnuiven die Curacao zo'n bijzondere plek maakt.
De Drijvende Markt op Curacao is een unieke attractie in Willemstad, waar Venezolaanse boten aanmeren om verse producten, zeevruchten en andere goederen te verkopen. Deze levendige markt verbindt Curacao met naburige eilanden, en biedt bezoekers een kans om de lokale cultuur te ervaren en te communiceren met vriendelijke verkopers. Het is een must-see voor degenen die willen proeven van het authentieke eilandleven.
Het Brionplein is vernoemd naar een beroemde lokale held, Pedro Luis Brion, die een sleutelrol speelde in de onafhankelijkheidsstrijd van Venezuela. Het plein ligt aan het water en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de haven van Willemstad en de iconische Koningin Emmabrug. Brionplein is voorzien van de nationale vlag van Curacao.
Kom langs de oudste synagoge op het westelijk halfrond en het naastgelegen levende museum. Rijd door de straat met verschillende statige 19e-eeuwse huizen waarvan de meeste ooit eigendom waren van lokale Joodse kooplieden. Gevolgd door een rit langs de indrukwekkende Beth Chaim Jewish Cemetery.

Helvig's tour was a top tour! Her SUV is very clean and comfortable (even has the new car smell!). She is so kind and loves to share information & history about her country. She is a good driver and is flexible to take you where you would like to go! We really appreciated being able to make requests. She is professional and a wonderful guide! We highly recommed her if you'd like a quiet tour without a crowd!

This one-to-one tour with Helvig on Curacao was the perfect way to see the entire island in just a couple of hours. She had a brand new, clean SUV with air and was a wonderful driver. She tailored the tour to my interests so we saw all sides of the island. We did stop at several beaches though taking in the sun wasn't on my agenda, taking in the gorgeous scenery was! She is deeply knowledgeable as someone born and raised on the island, and college educated abroad. She was able to provide an overview of the island its people, culture, history, economics, lifestyle and industry. I highly recommend both Helvig and this create your own 2-3 hour island tour. If you've never been to Curacao this is a great way to see the island and learn about it in a short visit. I left feeling I'd really seen Curacao. You can customize this tour to include a downtown walking tour as well. Helvig was delightful, professional and knowledgeable.

Helvig is the most knowledgeable tour guide we’ve ever experienced. As a native of Curaçao, she is personable and incredibly knowledgeable about the island, its people and their culture. This was the first private tour we’ve ever taken. The tour was reasonably priced. Her vehicle was comfortable and well-maintained. We booked a private 4-hour tour for my husband & I in Willemstad, Curacao. It was our first time here & we used AI to assist us in planning stops with a focus on photography, architecture and history. Thankfully we got Helvig van de Laarschot as our tour guide whose family has lived in Willenstadt for generations. She was more than happy to accommodate our requests for things we wanted to see. She was well versed in the history and all the private & charming alleyways. She was very personable and there was no question she could not answer. Her SUV was brand new & spotless. We were on a combination walking and driving tour and she certainly exceeded our expectations. The bonus is that she speaks fluent English, Dutch, Spanish, & French. We would hire her again in a heartbeat if and when we return to Willenstad!

Our private tour with Helvig was a most enjoyable and informative 3 hours. Our ship docked at 12:30 for a tour scheduled at 1:30. As we prepared to disembark, the heavens opened up. I contacted her because there was no feasible way for us to reach her in the rain. She was more than accommodating allowing us to wait a little while until the rain let up. It's obvious she love her country. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that loves that special touch
